Free kick help

hey guys i need some help doing free kicks, i know how to do the fast ball that doesnt curve by using L1 but i dont know how to curve it, i push left on the left stick and it doesnt do anydifference if i were to not push left on it. Can anyone help, thank you

The spin takes timing and pratice, and is subtle not extreme.I think topspin works best, but other people might see it different
