Custom tactics suggestions for realistic gameplay in FIFA 09

i will do like you said , 3 slots ( relegation battlers , midtablers , and euro aspirants . but what for the big teams like you said , because all teams are in the 3 slots .

ps : i play serie a yes with napoli , but will start new game after the tactic tweaks has been done. i can edit , i think ,other leagues later because i dont play in them now , but the Champions league big teams i will do as soon as Napoli plays European football in my savegame .

well in seria A....these teams are the "champions league" or "big" teams....

internationale
roma
juventus
milan

these teams get a custom slot of their own....as the their tactics are pretty good....its just the defence that needs adjusting....

which then leaves fiorentina, udenese & napoli (who get the euro aspirant tactic)

all of this stuff is covered thru this thread...you just need to look for it!

3 slots for 3 types and extra 4 slots for the 4 big teams with defence tweaks only like said above. makes 7 slots a league . right this is i hope ?

theres a post on page 6 with a list of the "big" teams who each get their own slot...

i know what ya mean about them all being in the list....maybe i should have put a star next to the teams who get their own slot...i guess at that point everyone knew what we were goin on about...lol....oh well, my bad...lol

have just gone and added the star to those teams, but refer to page 6 for a full list of teams who get their own slots

do i need to restart my career for those tactics to take effect in my game ? might wait for other league setups otherwhise

yea you will need to restart for them to take effect.....so its worth sorting the leagues/teams out since you will only have to do it once...hopefully..lol

ok , i'm finished with all italian teams except big 4 who are on page 6 with the other big team slots . so now i will do spain and england except the star teams and at last i will do all top teams from page 16.

btw , why only offside trap in italy in that schedule ? catenaccio - stuff ?

i think its to do with the way folks tend to play online...myself i stick to offline play..

this had been like taking part in a quiz...lol

could have done it in half the time and kept the thread clean if we'd used msn or PM's...lol

indeed it would but we dont have enough custom slots to sort everything out...its a shame....but not allot we can do if we want to keep the "big" teams playing as they should..

done with my league tweaking setup . costed my 4 hours but i think it will be more then worth it !

i've 4 slots left for my own tactics

so .... eveything is set up , i can start my MM now .. thanks a lot great tacticians

but i have a question about controller setup : i sprint with L1 , and L2 is for taking the ball away from opponent in defence . i heard you need to release sprint button and then press L2 to steal the ball .

my question here is : as i have only 7 fingers left ( most on left hand ) , would be it be playable with this setup i use ( l1 to sprint , l2 to steal )

the X button is you primary tackle button....L2 is kinda for tracking the player....you've also got the thing of holding X+O button to have the controlled player and a second player putting presure on the guy with the ball....

sprint is handy when defending if your chasing the guy with ball, but if your sprinting when goin to tackle you will often miss the tackle...this is where the L2 button comes in.....

i play with R2 as sprint so i can hold L2+R2+X which gives you the tracking element with a little more speed and presure...

all of these things used at the right time are helpfull when defending....

of course im working on default controls.....

I been reading alot of the posts here now. More then before. I have also finally started t Edit CPU Teams Tactics after I deleted Fifa 09 Totally 3 days ago, since I messed up saving files totaly.. But WHY we only got 28 Slots, We need so much more Slots to have 3 Slots for each league, and specially since we are using around 12 - 14 of them already to top teams, And 3 for La Liga, 3 For Serie-A, 3 For PremierLeague, Then we only got 6 - 7 slots left, and mostly those we need for Custom Tactics for the teams we are.. Then We dont got any more left for CPU for Netherland Divison, ChampionShip, Portuguese League etc etc.. We should have had 100 Slots or more.. Since all teams need it's own Tactics, Also different tactics settups for each Leagues, also International teams need Tactic settups, we dont got Slots even close for any of these .. So not sure how I can solve this..

I have finished Custom Tactics for PL now, gonne take Serie-A & La-Liga later today. Also after that gonne start Editing Acceleration & Speed on most top teams, leagues etc. That will take time. And for those having Adidas Live Season It will still works using it for Online Ranked 5 Minute matches, and Quick Match, and that other one I forgot, only what will happend if players form are 94 it will be 93 or 92 because of the reducing of Speed, and Acceleratin, and for Off-Form players will be the opposite then. 1 or 2 less. Just wanted to let people know this.. Any help about this, would be verry appreciated

i implimented these custom tactics yesterday and i played a match with man city against man utd. 10 min halves on world class difficulty and on slow gameplay speed. and i must say the gameplay is sooo much better than before. I ACTUALLY ENJOY PLAYING THE CPU NOW
