Hi All
Here are the custom tactics values for the one who use PS3. For the XBOX360 guys, you can check my FIFA 09 locker. I've given the custom tactics values for all three categories (relegation battlers, mid-tablers and euro-aspirants) for the top thre leagues. For the top clubs (of my choice) in each league, I have retained all the default values but have amended only the aggression values to 70 or 75. ![]() Hope you find it useful! |

Some time later, I would go deeper into custom tactics to come up with more suggestions. Cheers! |

This is really good
you thought about doing a blog or a site or anything? also someone needs to do a glossary of the player attributes and which attributes will effect each position

What settings do you use in MM, I've tried world class with Liverpool, 10 min halves all setting semi or manuel & I'm getting destroyed I try to play build up football & the computer always closes me down to quick, I get 3-4 shots a game while the computer gets 10-12. Lost to West Brom 3-0. Haven't tryed assisted but i don't think i want to. Any ideas??

Ok, so I set up all English and Italian teams according to bluechamp's settings and... well, in general, I didnt notice much of a difference in gameplay. I've only played a few games, but from what I've noticed, throughballs are still the primary way of scoring, both for me and the cpu. Not a knock against bluechamp or fifa 09, I just felt I should share...
What I would be intertested in knowing is if organizing teams in this way (regulation battlers, euro-aspirtants, etc) has a longer term effect over a season in MM? Do you think, by changing a team's tactics along these lines, that we are restricting the possibility of teams over or under-achieving? Has anyone noticed how league table's turn out using these settings? More or less realistic? |

sure, like real football the thru-ball does lead to allot of goals...but what the tactic changes do is make the defenders harder to beat...of course if you go at it using the assists, a really good team or on a difficulty thats "to easy" for ya then you will break down defences..
in your answer to your questions about the league positions, i dont think it means that teams will finish in those places in the table, what it does mean is that certain standards of team play in the way their quality requires them to play... but like real football anything can happen and the teams will switch tactics and formations mid game depending on whats happening. for me there's no doubt that the changes in tactics improve the defensive play of teams across the board, fair enough some teams already had tactics like those but the base level in the game is set to allow for more attacking football....i think what we've done here is raise the base level to make gameplay more even overall.

great reply. it hadnt crossed my mind that AI teams would still switch tactics throughout the game, and I agree that with the switch in tactics the game becomes more technical/defensive overall.
I'm still convinced that the settings might cause problems for certain teams over the course of a season. I'll give you an example. Take the serie A team Napoli. They've got a solid team (4 star i think) and are definitely either euro-aspirants or at the very least strong mid-tablers. Napoli is set up by default to be a quick passing, counter-attacking team, which fits their formation and their players, and is actually their style in reality. By setting them up in bluechamps settings, they lose this aspect. I guess what I'm saying is that some teams which dont fit the mold of 'regulation-battlers', etc. lose a certain quality and might be negatively affected by these setting. I'm not trying to be nit-picky, I'm just pointing out there may be some drawbacks to bluechamps settings. Obviously the ideal would be to go through every team altering the tactics according to player qualities, formations, etc. But isnt that EA's job? I've never worked so hard editing a game... |
