If most of your goals are from throughballs through the centre, you should try this. This will improve the quality of the game by a great deal.

I can appreciate what the poster is trying to do here, BUT my tip for REALISTIC football regarding FIFA 09:

return FIFA 09, join a league. Or wait wait a few years for EA to focus on football instead of animation and stadiums.

thinking about not using the auto player growth in the my next manager mode in an effort to curb the stupid increases you get over a season..and to keep it "more realistic"

however i wonder at what rate the cpu will increase player ratings while i only put the odd point on.

In real life, it's Chelsea. In FIFA 09, I play as Chelsea, Valencia, Villareal, Inter, Roma, Bayern, Reading, Marseille, Ajax, Germany etc.

Great Post's cheers. Do you play with the same champion's league team tactics that you have designed with Chelsea etc

EA sure should hire you. You know what you're talking about, or at least are able to let others know without getting out of line and are willing to help others.

Basically what he's saying is that this game can be realistic if you really want it to be.

does anyone know if you can actually share your custom tactics with a friend? Can I send my custom tactics to someone or is it only when I play with a few friends online?

i'm not tryna diss ya, but your tactics work pretty good OFFLINE but online tactics are bull****. try using tactics when someone presses you on the WHOLE field with his robot players (mufc f.e.), steals the ball away, just blind pass it twice, gives an automatic blind long ball and outruns you with berbatov or rooney for an easy 1 on 1. basically i've just resumed online play...
God that tactic ****es me off

I found a way to stop it at a big price though

I've never posted before but felt I'd like to add some more positive feedback on this thread. The thread starter has made this game more realistic and has my thanks and gratitude.

I've been playing 15 minute halves/World Class. It's just about right for me.
These custom tactics are amazing.

I Played a fantastic game earlier between Fulham and Everton and it was very hard fought.
Certainly seeing different things and that includes different types of goals being scored. Impressed with the A1 as well using these tactics. It felt very competitive like every player was giving his everything.
Everton (me) was using the Euro-Aspirant and Fulham (A1) was using Relegation Battler tactics, Everton won 3-1. Yakubu scored two goals and one was a beauty from just inside the D into the corner of the net. I am having a great time with these tactics.
