Nah every game counts in your league, and you put up the results on the website...

go to the forum, sign up, have a look at the post for your league, it will tell you how to join, league name, password etc for login in fifa 09 online,

If you don't know how to join a league:

Go to Xbox Live
Online Game Modes
Online Leagues
Search Leagues
Type in information found on website

When you are joined:
Xbox Live, Online Game Modes, Online Leagues
Then My Leagues
Select the league you are in
Select players from that league to play.

No need to set up friendlies, it's all done through the online leagues.
