Online Ranked Games: I Retire

I don't play Ranked games anymore because of the following reasons:

1. Every second match I play is against Man Utd or Barca. It gets really boring after a while.
2. Too many people have started exploiting the lagging glitch. 5 of my losses should be wins if it wasn't for this stupid glitch. Its really sad EA hasn't done anything about it.
3. Most people are extremely rude especially after they lose. I'm on a receiving end of boorish messages after every win. In contrast, when ever Ive lost to a genuinely good player, I usually message them "Well played mate" and end up adding them as a friend. Ive never got a similar response ever.

Anyone else feels the same way?

you get those guys every now and then, but you cant let that phase you man. you seem like a fair player with a good heart, i wouldnt let them get the best of you. they are only man u or barca because they are not good enough to win with anyone else, or are genuine fans of the team. i can tell you once i get my copy (NA player) i will probably be barca for a while, its my favorite club in europe. but i want to play with them in FIFA 09. its just what ive been looking forward to. but afterwards, i always like to be the underdog. like USA, or Turkey, or the rival club of the other players team choice. but its always like this in the beginning, but some will get bored then go to other clubs, you can add me if you want my psn is blaugrana23 and im more than happy to play with other clubs, the thrill of scoring a goal with an underdog team is more pleasing than with a stacked favorite.

You may beat me as i'm just average 25 wins 29 losses, but i'll fight til the end.

Barca's my favourite club as well but I prefer to take on a greater challenge of using a team like Betis or Deportivo or even Real Sociedad. But the opponent's team is not the only problem I have with Random Ranked Games.

Therefore I shall remain retired and preferably play online leagues with my mates and my BAP Club.

I'll add you mate. You can join our league as well once you get the game.

meh, i dunno about those clubs, i like sevilla, almeria, and villareal (come on altidore!). its also fun to be small time clubs in england... like hull, or tottenham (hahahhaha had to say it, come on juande!)

glad you are into la liga, its a class league! ill for sure join your club, so long as the team passes, i cant stand ball hogs! i think in BaP the assist is more cool then actually scoring, dont know why, its just the goal was YOUR creation... awesome feeling.

I tend to wait till my opponent pics his team. Then i'll picka a random club from the same league.

I love a challange but finding i'm loosing more than I win, but you can't beat that feeling of beating manU/Barca with a smaller club.

My bigger problem is beating those noobs and they end up using the Lag Glitch. I was leading 4-0 at half time against this noob (he was using Man Utd). He quits at half time and I get a 3-0 loss. Its happened to me so many times now. Its time-wasting and extremely frustrating. Its better to play private leagues with your mates.

Ouch, that's really disappointing that error wasn't fixed from 08' to 09'.

I hardly faced it in 08. Its happening way too frequently in 09. The problem is not just the error but its the ethics of those noobs that exploit it. I know how to lag out but I don't use it because I know its unethical.

No. Sure I play a lot against Man Utd but not as much as you say. I find that if I choose a team of the same strength in the same league as the team that first pops up (the team they support) they'll often go back to it.

I'm starting to lose my rag online, but I think that may be how glitchy it can be. Especially how the Interactive Leagues achievement is just ridiculous. I'll only play those matches for the achievement and the occassional ranked match. Otherwise it's against friends.

i really understand how you feel.

I play allways Werder Bremen and play around 60-70% of my games versus Manu. My record is not good - but that dont keep me away from using my hometown team (which is not that bad to be fair). I would love to play more underdog team like st. pauli - but it would be more appreciated if i hit than a opponement without manu/barca fever..

After a good game - does not matter if i loose/win i drop usual a line and say "well played mate". From time to time i also met other friendly gamers - i have in mind that i have my rank with my limited team and without quitting.

That keeps my head up high.

Feel free to add me to youre friendslist - and we can have some fair matches.

Ive already said my problem is not with good players using Man Utd but its with noobs using Man Utd who only have skills to exploit the lag glitch and who love to swear.

Also if there are better alternatives to random ranked games available then why not spend time on them. I like the interactive leagues this year and we have a busy season going. Fifa Clubs brilliant as well. So with better alternatives which weren't available last year then why spend time with those noobs only to lose as a result of the Lag Glitch.

1: Sometimes I play the glory hunters, others I just leave the lobby and find another game.

I find a good tactic: I have my "Home" team set to England - this usually means that the glory boys change from United to, ok, normally Spain or Brazil, but at least its a variation.

2: I havent seen a Lag Glitch - I think maybe 1 in 15 has minor Lag, maybe I have just been lucky in my 75+ games....

3: You can set your profile to not accept messages from people not on your FL. Problem solved.

add me as well i always play 100% fair game and never quit my psn is CescMagic4 i dont use assisted either...i know how u feel but ive played about 50 games so far maybe like 3 or 4 were in good spirits and enjoyable with good football being played

like someone posted a few days ago, ther's a trick to get the win whenever your opponent quits on you. the trick was for xbox live but it works on psn too!!

i had someone quit on me after 11mins, did the trick and got the win.

its simple, whenever you get the disconnection message appear dont hit ok right away,
pop up the ingame xmb, go to players met and select the players name, i usually also compare trophies, wait for 1min (just to be sure), close ingame xmb and hit "ok" on
disconnection message.
you WILL get the win.

ther's NOTHING quiters can do anymore to avoid a loss!
try it.

Well i haven't played many 5 star teams today. Infact i've played only liverpool and i beat them with a 2 star belgium team 2-0

All the man united players have seem to have dissapeired since you get more rank points when you play with lower ranked teams
