What you're asking for asis is a little weird.
I mean, it makes sense, and I don't know why they took it away if they had it in as an option in the first place, but it is weird to be able to switch over to the comp's side with human players..

It's so annoying that they give us so much freedom at the beginning... they let us get used to it, then they take it away - just like that.

in this way, no one waits for his turn. it is a battle of everyone. all of us play each game, all other three players try to win the one player. i will make an example so you can understand it fully :

lets say we make a group and knock out tourney. we choose 32 teams and each one of us picks his team. i pick AC Milan. in my group stage i got PSV Eindhoven, Villareal and Stutgart. my first game is against PSV Eindhoven (which is a not selected by a player). all the other three dont have to see me play against the CPU, the try to win me themselvs and try to make me not pass the group stage. everyone plays all games of the tourney!

each player from the four has his own team, and all other players play against him each and every game, trying to win him on his try to win the cup.

and...when it comes to a players team against a players team in the quarter final, semi final or final... imagine how big this game becomes. a total prestigious football match, and then it is a pleasure for the others to sit down and watch this head to head game.
dont you think this is a great way to play the game with friends?

when they took this ability from us - they destroyed our game. we love fifa and we love EA but this is so upsetting for us, we dont know what to do now. we are totally lost and have no point in playing together anymore if we can not create our tournaments like we love to.

you must try this exciting format, and shortly you will understand that this is the most beautiful part of the game.
since i "founded" this format, that becames very popular here, everyone stoped to play useless friendlies and start to play world cups, chamions leagues, and even full leagues when every game played by all of the players.

i really dont understand why you see that as a cheating. the interest of the other players is to win the single player in every game.

so simple, so brilliant.
but now- so frustrating.

no! they wont allow no one play on the CPU side. this destroyed our tournaments. we play like this for three years now, and we hoped so much for FIFA 09...

and yes, it is VERY fun. it makes it all amazingly competitive and very hot. they should allow the option in their next patch.

WE DONT WANT TO PLAY PES!

I know its not the same but try a lounge session.Then you can keep going for ever and i think you can have about 16 players.

no, the lounge is not what we need. in the lounge you can play only one against one, and it is not a tournament. our we are four friends who play fifa together for years now. our tournament style is a tournament that all of us play at all times. as i explained in this thread before :

this is our style of playing, this is how we enjoy fifa all of us together. no one has to wait for his turn - everyone plays, every one is in the battle. you should try it with you friends if only EA will fix this for us...

houski999 - it could be the best option, but it is nothing compared to our style of a tournament. we have the game now for almost two weeks now, and we had not played it yet. it is such a shame for four fifa players who love the game so much.

i believe they will. it seems like a very simple thing to fix in a patch, and it is not something that will make the game different, it is only a slight change, for the benefit of everyone who plays the game like we do, and as you can see in this forum, there are some players who play like this and are very frustrated with the situation as it is now.

i hope and believe that EA will make this gesture for very loyal costumers such as us.

It looks like they are working on patching it so you can at least have 8 teams in a custom tournament - which is better than 4. It would nice to be unlimited, or even take control of the CPU team when its playing a mate - to make the game that bit harder!!!

All we can do it wait & see what happens, seems like a lot of people are upset that they limited the number of human players

about making it possible for eight human players to play a tournament - it is important, but it is not what we ask for.
we ask for getting back the option to play as CPU team, so while in tournament, all friends play each game. only this way no one has to wait and not play, waiting for his turn against the CPU. a tournament should let all play at all time. it was like that in all fifa games so far, i dont get why they blocked this in fifa 09 we waited so long for.
