What can you do in all honesty? Ask them?, beg them? They obviously don't see it as an issue. Online play is the way things are going and there is very little you can do to halt progress.

I let go some of the ****ing stupid bugs ive been experiencing, but tournaments with a bunch of friends was like a ritchual for us to have a monthly 10 man+ tournament, with some beers, everyone a ****ing fiver it winner takes all, now all that **** has been taken out and replaced with 500 buggs the dumb ****ers

if ea would only tell in advance that they changed the tournament mode and made it impossible to play with friends - i would never buy the game. no matter how amazing and how realistic it is. no tournaments with friends - no point in playing. simple as that. i dont want to play alone, dont want to play online with people i dont know and dont see.
this thing they did is actually lying to very loyal costumers who buy their games for years.

the thing is that we really love FIFA games, and enjoy our tournaments together. we never liked any other game. i dont owe ea nothing, i think actually, ea owes us as we stayed loyal to their products and also promoted FIFA among PES players. now i am affraid it is all over with what they did this time.

Honestly, the only thing I can recommend is to start the tourney however you want and look at the fixtures, write them down on word or something so you can consantly edit it, then go of and play the matches in kick-off mode.

I know it's stupid, but the reason they probably did this was so that people couldn't "cheat" there way through tournaments, which is ridiculous because who would want to do that anyway, you don't really get much reward besides an achievement or two.

Don't return the game because of this. They could fix it in the future, and besides, they haven't really taken 1 vs 3 from you, they have just taken all the stat tracking away, and your forced to do it yourslef.

It's just like the kit number thing, it doesn't ruin manager mode, but it's a nifty feature that should be included.

this is so stupid, to be writing the whole fixtures on papers or on a word document. we waited so much and spend lot of money on buying PS3 with FIFA 09 and now it has no point playing.
playing 1 against 3 in exibition mode means nothing. the whole point is to create a world cup or a champions league tourney and then all of us playing each game of it, making it a 8 hour tourney full of great moments. this is all over now as things are right now, EA took this away from us.

do you think there could be a patch to fix this? is it possible? what should i do in order to promote such a thing?

You CAN still do that, it just takes more time (writing everything down, having to pick out each match)

It's annoying and stupid, but theres nothing you can do about it right now.

Create the tournament normally. Choose which teams you want to be, write down the fixtures in word. Play each match accordingly, with however you see fit in kick-off mode, after each match add the points on your document in word,

Just do that on paper!

and so on.

I'm also getting FIFA not only for onliine play, but for offline play with friends.
4 human players is NOT ENOUGH. The tournaments are over in like 5 minutes and it doesn't feel satisfying or fun. I've done that with 08. Then we tried 8 player tournaments, and they were completely different. I really hope they change this in an upcoming patch.
SERIOUSLY EA. PLEASE CHANGE THIS.

its not possible to do that on paper, because in this mode, there are games between the teams of the computer, and you can not do that on a paper.

Deaann - i think there is one problem with this. the games played between CPU teams can not be decided by word. i mean, each one of us plays his picked team, against the other three playing the rival team he got in the draw. but, there are also other games in the tournament that do not involve the player picked team and therefore is not played by us, but is calculated by the CPU.

GoTorontoFC - do you think there is a chance EA could send a patch to fix this? i think it is a very simple fix to make. i still dont get why they chose to do such thing, and why they didnt notify us in advance about this.

They thought people would cheat there way through tournaments by letting their friends win, and they probably also thought many wouldn't of used the feature.

As for the CPU games thing, it might be heaps annoying, but you COULD go through the tournament you created (the one just to get the fixtures) and sim every match (including yours, but you really play yours in kick-off mode)

So your pretty much going in and out of tournament mode simming CPU matches and playing your own (in kick-off), and writing the results in word. Yeah, it sucks.

It doesn't seem like something hard to fix. EA should get on it.

Why did they limit tournament play to 4 players when 8 was fine! Did anyone complain with 8? Nope.
Why did they take out tournament modes? Did anyone complain with the tourney modes? Nope!

It seems they're trying to cut some corners without people noticing.
They should make stuff like this illegal. lol

Cant edit kit numbers, put a wall for free kicks in arena, unable to scheduele training, the little things like these add up, I'd love if they patch these things up.

Infact this would be very very simple, letting players controll another team.

I think the reason they have done this is because if its a 4 player tournement, each player is supposed to only controll the team he has picked for the tourny.

No screwing over, just EA making you play the team YOU chose.

This also makes it more fair in my opinion.
If it was 1v1 you would have a different score/winner then if it was 3v1.
