After playing the demo I think the guys who made it last year have a pretty good chance at qualifying again.

The controls are pretty much the same and it will just be the gameplay and passing that will need to be adjusted to.

Looking forward to it.

Any word on which country the final will be in?

There will 100% not be an Irish regional. Hate to say it, but it just wont happen. There have been only 2 Irish players in the 5 FIWC competitions that have been held... And they were both me lol (i know you came very close last year, well done btw). So Ireland doesnt have the player base to warrant a regional. I mean, we dont even have an online leaderboard!

And who says you and nicko would make the final mate?

The worst is for you guys...you either qualify online or you fly out to the states and play the live qualifier here

They might be, but they (like myself) are concentrating on PC FIFA 08 ahead of the World Cyber Games in November.

Anyone know or fancy a guess where the next finals will be held? Maybe the Sony centre Berlin is gonna be the permanent home for the FIWC finals in future. It has already been in Switzerland, England, Holland, and Germany. I think France or Spain could be next. Do you think it would ever be held in America? Think it might cost them too much as there are more european players in the competition.

One of the EA or Sony guys (not quite sure) at the 08 after party hinted at it being held in Las Vegas in the near future. He said there would be a car added to the prize and that came true.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see but I would bet on it being in Europe somewhere this year. France would be cool.

Sony centre was pretty special as a setting for it. I was pretty impressed with how the players were treated the whole time from the hotel to the game day. Pretty awesome.
