i think the price is just a cover for the real reason they don't want live season.

Their absoloutley terrified that over the course of the season, they wont be able to find the overrated team for this year, pick the same team/same starting 11/same formation/same tactics to cheat their way up their rankings. And they'll have to learn about different stats and players, and not have to rely on ronaldo or messi to score that crucial tap in.

With live season the best players will be switching teams, using new players and i welcome it. there should be more variation online (even if its just - everyone will play as barca one month, then switch to milan, then switch to man utd)

Exactly! I was ****ed when they changed it so you had to have an XBox Live Gold account to download the squad updates when I think in FIFA 07 you just needed the free XBox Live Silver membership. I don't have the wireless adapter and my router is too far away from my XBox to connect a cable and I just play against my friends in my house, so paying for a month of Gold just to download the squad updates was lalalalalalala IMO.

from now on, you can create a new gamertag and you will get a free month of gold. then you can download the squads & they will be available to use with all your gamertags on your console.

its not the amount of money or being cheap, its the principle.

how can they do it for free with NBA & Madden, but then go & charge for fifa....lalalalalalalala mate

and who buys magazines when you have the internet?

EA should reward their faithful customers with some neat updates for free. the best example i can give is Valve & what they did with the orange box. they could have made it only half life, then charged for team fortress & portal, but they gave them for free because their fans deserved it.

This is the part that has me angry about it. If the prices we've seen are accurate, that's not too bad IMO. But the fact that a similar service is free for their other games is very weak on their part.

you dont have to pay to play online, you can still play online for free. you just need to pay to have stats updated.

I think they meant paying for XBox Live or whatever the equivalent thing is for PS3.

yeah, i dont think EA would ever be that stupid to charge people to play online ranked matches, etc.

updates are worthless. i dont want to see my players stats dip because he has 1 bad game. thats garbage.

its free for 1 league in those games (the NFL & the NBA) & its free for 1 league in fifa so its actually the same.

i think it sounds pretty cool, i'll get my free league (probably england) & if its good buy more, if not i wont end up spending anymore than i did last year & will have a more realistic game so cant lose really.

It won't be drastic, lol.

Let's say player A is a 90. After one terrible game the worst that can halalalalala maybe his positioning, maybe, gets worse. The stats will only truly fluxuate over time I would assume.

Every player has at least one bad game during the season.

I'm guessing that if player A who is a 90 has 5 bad games in a row, he'll probably be down to like an 88 or worse.

So you pay 50, and you want to add 12.99 to that? That's 63 for 1 video game. Other EA games actually get this for FREE, you know that!?

i dont think its all that expensive, it less than an hour of my work time. im sure i will end up buying it to be honest, but i just want to make a fuss about it so EA notices that people arent happy about being charged for extra content.

then again, i only play with arsenal in ranked matches, so i will only need the premeir league. if i dont use arsenal, then its a small club that isnt in the other leagues that are offered

Actually was intrested in this when i first started reading but then it went all wrong for one i wouldnt be happy paying for that service after i spent a small fortune on the game its self secondly if i did buy the service wich i probs would have then i would expect to see my league there wich it isnt so theres no danger will i subscribe lol not unless the spl gets added..... we have teams in uerope every year :-(

hmm..your not very bright...NBA has like 5 players on each side...smaller leagues..
Madden...loads of players granted by like 1 league..now how many players and leagues in Fifa?? you get my point!

Fifa is probably the best value for money in any game..the amount of investment it takes for them to purchase all those licences (stadiums, players, fonts, shirts etc..) to keep us happy...we play the game all yr round till the next release all for 39.99 GBP..

EA are now providing an expansion to Fifa that will ensure that it will last all season long! for 12.99 for all leagues (1 lg free)...

lets see what other games offer for that money..even GTA 4 which is enormous does not get played since its complete...with fifa you have all the online modes..the be a pro...ranked matches..online leagues...Manager mode...all for this price and you complain!

you lot are the kind of spoilt brats that are never satisfied..only when theres something to complain about..dont want to pay..dont..i will and ill play against all those who do..
