Fifa is probably the best value for money in any game..the amount of investment it takes for them to purchase all those licences (stadiums, players, fonts, shirts etc..) to keep us happy...we play the game all yr round till the next release all for 39.99 GBP..

EA are now providing an expansion to Fifa that will ensure that it will last all season long! for 12.99 for all leagues (1 lg free)...

fifa isnt a 1 game per year game, remember, they also come out with fifa 09.5 mid year which they charge us for $60.

like i have said it is not the money that is the problem for me it is the fact that some people will have it and others not.

for example man utd have a really bad couple of weeks all the players stats go down, and i play someone online who HAS NOT payed and they have the better team. The non paying customer has the advantage.

(ps i never use man utd just example)

either they give it for free then evryone has same stats no problem, or charge fiver extra and its included in the game all fair.

it will be like playing with 2 different sets of rules for both teams ( this been said before)

if they create an option where you go search for ranked match to playh with another live season user then great if not then its totally not fair.

also hope they add championship next year so all the loans inbetween transfer windows are put in.

nope....if someone has it, they get the upgrades, and the person who doesnt have it has to use the default stats that come with the game

thats the thing i bet you wont know until you start if the other user has it, which is unfair. doubt knowing ea they will create a search option for live season other users.

this is way it should be free so its fair for everyone can admin find out if you can search etc

yes, thats true as well.


i think its stupid for injured players to lose their stats. its a video game, i want to play with the player that are good. just because a player gets hurt, his skills go down even though he was playing well at the time of the injury? thats just rediculous

Yeah, this bothers me a bit. Celtic, Rangers, Boca, River, nat teams and a few other club teams should be included in a bonus update if you say buy the whole FIFA Live Season package. Just a thought.

trust me boss, that xbox live fee is well worth it compared to the PS3 online service....its garbage. the $60/year is a good value.

lets see what other games offer for that money..even GTA 4 which is enormous does not get played since its complete...with fifa you have all the online modes..the be a pro...ranked matches..online leagues...Manager mode...all for this price and you complain!

you lot are the kind of spoilt brats that are never satisfied..only when theres something to complain about..dont want to pay..dont..i will and ill play against all those who do..

They are not offering this for every team in the game, only the select 6 leagues. So the number of players you're talking about is less than what you seem to be stating. I'll give you that the NBA has much less players but Madden has got to be pretty comparable with the number of teams (32, not 18 or 20) and number of players on each team (~50 vs. ~25).

This one league free thing is only for this year, next year you'll have to pay to get any of them.

And the whole online debacle where you're playing with changed stats and the other user is not is completely bunk IMO. I seriously doubt if EA is going to let you know if you're playing another person with the Live Season or not so it's a lalalala shoot.

I just don't think this is a good idea to implement on a partial basis. I'd rather have everyone pay $55 for the game and everyone has the updates for free. EA would still probably pull in the same amount total and we'd all be playing on a level playing field.

Good point, I have never used the PS3 online service. I just hate to pay even more for this online service when Comcast is already ripping me off for the cable modem. I'd have no problem paying what I do for a good internet connection but half the time it's really bogged down. Probably too many people leeching torrents.

to be honest nobody was bothered about this being in the game before it was mentioned so why bother paying for it? I can't see it being that good either way, i mean it sounds like if a player has a good game their stats will go up a lot until they play again the week after, so basically you can finish half a season or even a full season in game over that week before the player who had 1 good game stats change. What if say rooney plays great one week in real life then you start a league with man united on fifa and hes awesome and you finish most of the league before rooney plays agian the week after, then rooney plays again in real life and plays utter kak and does for the rest of the season then you have played a full season with him being overrated, not really realistic imo. Would only really work if the fixtures are correct and you only play 1 match a week which is not going to happen

I believe the form thing is only going to apply to normal head to head games and online play so I don't think it would "count" in your season thing you mention. You'd just be playing with the original squad values. I'm guessing a little here so I could be wrong.

I believe this is a place where there is some misunderstanding in the community. This is not going to be wholesale squad updates like they did last year after the January transfer window. All they will be updating is a new field called form which will have some kind of percentage effect on certain categories that make up their overall rating. Like say Adebayor is an 85 overall but his form is poor, maybe his heading value, pace and positioning will each drop by 5% making his overall an 82 or something like that. Again I'm guess a little here but that was my general understanding from all I've read in various places. It's not a huge adjustment of all the values in the database like they did after the January 08 transfer window closed with the huge squad update they offered.

EA should at least give us the big 3 leagues for free (EPL, La Liga, Serie A), those are the only leagues people ever use online anyways. How is this going to be compatible with online play if everyone is going to have different stats? Why do EA have to make such a mess of this? Either give us free updates so every is on a level playing field or don't add this at all!!!

Personally, I think this is one of the dumbest/most lame additions EA could have made to this game. It is such a letdown after they promoted a fun new online mode, and then this ended up being the surprise. I have been playing fifa since 94 on sega genesis where 30 yard shots were lethal with west germany, and nothing more had me excited for this game than the possibility of having EA Sports LEague like NHL will have this fall. I expected it to be included, but I was disappointed when i saw that this lame "live season" was the big new feature. I mean who the hell cares if the players are going to be updated once a week? The winter update is enough for me, and Im sure more than a few others agree. It doesnt affect the manager mode and it gives people an advantage online becuse they can just turn off the dumb updates if ronaldo is playing badly, or missing the beginning of the season with injury like he is now. I dont care that it costs money, because I will not be paying for more leagues to update. I don't want to choose one league to update anyways since I choose teams from more than one different league in the game when playing online. Live season is just another stupid, lame gimmick to get gullible customers to dump more money into this product. However, I will buy the game since the gameplay looks to be stellar so far, but I will be sorely disappointed that my room mate will be enjoying EA Sports League with his created hockey player, and making his way into all star games. Adidas live season is a DUMB idea, and I hope it fails miserably because who the hell cares about weekly player updates that only affect online play. I want my be a pro online career, dammit.

Isnt $60 enough for EA? Xbox 360 players have to pay $60 for the game then $60 for the golden membership of xboxlive and EA still wants to charge as for this adidas live season.

We all know that good players are still going to be underrated in this game.

Can the player form attribute be edited in the edit mode, and can it be applied in manager mode? Will form change over the course of the manager mode season, affected by how a player performs within manager mode, and would this affect his price?
