Bombastico could be an Argentina-style stadium. As in La Bombanera (Boca jr's stadium) It would be kinda odd since the Argentine league isn't in the game. Who knows, maybe it's just a South American style stadium.

48 is not even close to enough. In PES you can download stadiums for almost every team.

Where the hell is Santiago Bernabéu?! Honestly, Real are the most wining club in europe ever and their stadium isn't included? That's just not good enough...

You should read the forum. It has been brought up millions of times. Konami has exclusive rights to the Bernabéu starting with last year's game. So don't expect it in the game for a couple/few years until the contract runs out.

Fifa 08 had 28 stadiums. I think this is massive improvement. And if you look at the surrounding environment of the stadium, I think EA is finally listening to the fans! Gameplay matters more anyway and from what we've all heard from Wepeeler gameplay's amazing / improved as well. Can't wait to get my hands on it mate!

Im not sure and dont know where I read it but I think Konami has exclusive rights to White Hart lane (just like for bernebue) for PES 09. Im not sure though. I will try to find a source to validate this rumour.

I'm not sure about this , but here's what I think:
There's a stadium in Bucharest(Romania) called Lia Manoliu, and its old name was "23 august".
Maybe there's a connection between "23 maj" and "23 august" ( maj [or mai] and august are actually names for months ) ,but this is just an assumption.
This stadium is in reconstruction right now,but it looked like this for a while:

Ive attempted alot of research into this and Ive come to the conclusion that there are only 23 licensed stadiums while remaining 25 are generic. Some of these generic stadiums are default stadiums for specific leagues / regions and are basically given fancy names.

I agree. But still I think this is better than last year. With Porto, I played almost every match on one generic stadium for the whole season. Now we'll have a variety. But on the otherhand our whining about fewer licensed stadiums will only pressurize EA to come up with more!

What's more important is the game play. It sounds like they made some solid improvements. I wish they had more real stadiums but as long as they provide more generic regional stadiums and assign they to team from the regions. I'm ok with that. I don't buy the game for the stadiums, but it does enhance the whole experience IMO.

My guesses:

1. Bombastico - Generic Argentina? Based on the Bombonera perhaps.
2. Municipal - Portuguese generic?
3. Aloha - American generic - betting on it being the default MLS stadium
4. Stadio 23 Maj - 23rd May - Could this be the Moscow Champions' League Final Stadium?
5. Stadion Olimpic - The old "Olympic style" stadium from past FIFA's.

These I must stress again are only my guesses.

Nice guesses, but @ Nr. 4, if that is the case, could we see this being the generic stadium for a Russian League? Or maybe just a CL Final stadium?

I don't think there are any new leagues confirmed - the number EA said is 30, same as last year. I would venture a guess it would be the base for the Eastern European National teams (and any in ROTW) as well as replicating the Luznicki (sp) Stadium used for the UCL Final 08.

well i think they are going to drop the seoul sports complex (i think thats what ea calls it) and make a genetic korean wc stadium. i think so because if you look at estadio de las artes, it looks almost exactly like the daegu wc sports complex.

World Stadiums - Daegu World Cup Stadium in Daegu

or some of the wc stadiums used in the 02 wc.

World Stadiums - Tournaments :: World Cup 2002

further reason of why ea would drop these korean wc stadiums and make their own versions is that nobody really uses them so they just make their own. thus you got the hanguk stadium. as to why they gave the other korean stadium the name of estadio de las artes after they moded it idk.

I know it was a tenuous link - but it was either that or Beckham's shirt number suggesting a MLS generic stadium!

They need to put in the Sükrü Saracoglu, the stadium of Fenerbahçe!! They are quality and there are no Turkish stadiums in 08! Fener are better than most teams who have the stadiums for example Paris Saint Germain..!! And it is bigger and better atmosphere!!
