Default From Barca to Hull City - MM sucks

I started a new MM season playing as Barca. Won the league & cup in season 1. Season 2 got better as I won the league & Champions League (though a 1st round exit in the Copa Del Rey). Surely I am a leading manager now. All the big teams would be after me & Barca would never let go of me. Right??? Unfortunately I was wrong.

After season 2 I just wanted to hv a look as to what othr jobs are available (I read on this forum only that if you choose not to continue with ur current club, your old club is ALWAYS on the list of jobs available). After having a look around I find that Barca wasn't offering me a Job. What's more there was no other top cluboffering me a job. I wasn't even on the radar of Newcastle & Spurs, 2 clubs I would hv liked to coach looking at their current Premiership positions. Seeing no other mid-sized club in Spain, Italy & England, I chose Hull City. But, it wasn't playing in the EPL as it must hv. been relegated. Now I am stuck in DIv. 1.

Surely your old club has to offer you a job after such a performance. And when you are choosing a new team, there should be a way to see its last year's performance.

Off-topic: I have Auto Save on. If its turned off, would I still be with my old team since I didn't save the above changes.

Your manager prestige level is too low. To join a top club, it must be at least 8 or 9. However, after 2 seasons it's only likely to be around 5 or 6 even if you meet all the board expectations (which means that you must stay for another season or two to increase the manager prestige). Another thing is, if you choose not to stay, the old club will not be in the list of offers thereafter.

There's nothing wrong with the lower divisions I'm currently 6th in the championship with Aldershot (promoted first 2 seasons), hoping to reach the playoffs And maybe sneak a cup win... Can't wait to see how I do in the EPL with a League 2 standard team

Not getting another top club is not an issue. But surely they have got to give a way to see what other jobs are on offer rather than this trial & error method.

Yeah, that's true. This is part of the MM unrealism.

I think so. If not, one way round this annoyance is to make a separate save file just before the last game of the season, so if you do want to look round, but can't find anyone you like, or aren't offered your old club, then just reload from that save. I always have more than one save, just in case anything happens to the saved game, like the file being corrupted.

manager mode doesn't suck... you do =)

If you can only get a job with a division 1 club, perhaps that's where you belong! =P

Wow that's a very constructive reply

One thing i don't get in manager mode is,you can play the game i thought been a manager you yell instructions from the sidelines and not actually play the game.Needs renaming to player/manager mode imo

i was only joking =)

they have a whole other game for being a proper manager.

however, you can influence the the way they play during play. you can tell them to push forward and counter attack etc.

i know what you mean, though.

True. I'd like to see MM integrated with Be A Pro, so you can be a real Player Manager, get out there, play and scream at your team-mates. As far as only being to manage is concerned, I'd love a mode where you see the game from the Manager's point of view in the dugout (with small windows showing other camera angles). You could have the option to shout/motivate/insult the referee or linesmen! Half-time talks could be implemented as well. What do you guys think of that?

That would take ages. EA cant get a simple bug-free game here. I wonder when would such a thing be implemented. It's interesting though...maybe in FIFA 15 or 20..

Actually when you come to think about it, the whole concept of being able to choose any team in your 1st season is wrong (wasn't there in FIFA 07 I think). Because this way you are able to get any team when you are a rookie, but not when you are more successful.

But if EA bring the old thing back, ppl would be complaining abt how they can't choose their fav. clubs in year 1. So actually, EA are in a bit of a fix.

it is a difficult decision. i don't know which i prefer.

i want to play the game with man utd, but i can understand the pride in working your way up to it.

playing 2 or 3 seasons before being able to play for the club you want is a bit ****.

Simple, just have the option to be able to choose or not. I usually start as a smaller team (Reading, currently) and try to get promoted. I've got Man Utd in the cup soon, at Old Trafford. Greeeeeeeaaaaat!!!!!

Ok, I found a good tool for MM. You can change the job security, fan support & most importantly the club funding. Really useful if you are stuck in a club you didn't want (like me) as you can buy good players & pretend as if a rich sheikh tok over your club . Watch out Man City, here I come.

Here's the tool - http://www.fifa4fans.de/news/shownews.php?shownews=358

Cheers!!!
