Default Mouse/Keyboard control = very very fun to play and onlygood thing EA invented in 2009

I started to play with mouse/keyboard control since i got fifa 2009 so i test it , i saw its very hard to control and play because i was used to play only with keyboard/gamepad .With time i just started to understand how this is played and its just wonderful invention by EA ( the only good thing EA sports made this year , the rest in the game is old and not new ).
What i mean by wonderful , for exp. u have posession of the ball and with the keyboard u run left ok ? its cool because while u run left u can press the mouse cursor to the right and make an inverse pass/shot, unlike when u play with the keyboard : if u run left with the ball and u want to pass right , u must turn right before and then pass/shot , no more with mouse control =).
One ore cool thing is the shots/passes u can make while hovering with mouse cursor on a surtin place on the field , but yet this must be improuved too , because its not 100% acurate , sometimes i want to press a threw ball to a player and i press on some spot but the ball goes other spot ;/.

In the end i just hope EA make a game of soccer next year that is similar to pes2009 in everything in the field + improuve the mouse/keyboard controls ,
OR Pes2009 in 2010 put too the mouse/keyboard control option in their game hahaha =) that will be great.

I don't like mouse control in a football game: mouse control belongs in RTS games and shooters. It's great for passing, but tricks are far too fiddly, headers are almost impossible to time or direct and having to use the keys to run is annoying.

As for Fifa 2010? If EA can build on the improvements they've made in the second patch, give us decent, proper heading physics/aerial battles, polish up the presentation in game (menus are fine) - make it like the PS3 version: camera men around the pitch, crowd waving flags etc, then it'll do me. Big time.

Edit: A few more improvements to MM - let's be able to name the prices of players ourselves if we want to and how about International Management?

PES? I'll only go back to that if they somehow get the licence from EA. Otherwise, I wouldn't want to go back to six leagues, no proper domestic tournaments and so on.

Mouse control is best thing ever happened in fifa versions over ther years ...with keyboard u can only do simple arcade passes and shots , with mouse its about skill and speed of hand, i played so far 100 games online with mouse control and i win most of games with my nice passes and shots

You can do precision passes with the gamepad as well, you just need to know how to aim. Keyboard on it's own however is absolute rubbish for football games.

I honestly couldn't get used to the mouse. I gave up on it, but I respect that others have a very different experience.

I think it's terrible for tricks and headers, but excellent for passing. Overall though, I much prefer the gamepad. As others have said, EA worked on mouse control first and then the actual game, it is obvious: all you have to do is listen to how much they went on about mouse control in the interviews. You do not build a game on a sodding control method, people! Ever!

Actually, this is possible - you can use xpadder to assign movements on a joystick to the A,W,S,D keys (and maybe some other functions to the other joystick buttons), then you can move with a joystick (obviously a regular joystick used for flying games etc., not a gamepad) and pass/shoot with a mouse

Please don't say that, they'll release it with Fifa 2010 PC and bump the damn price up by £20!

I think in 2010 they will even remove support for the remaining controllers and introduce exclussive "EA voice play™" where players will recognize your voice and act according to your command. no mouse no controller ! and they will highlight it as the best reason behind buying fifa 2010 !

Yes, only it'll take all the development time, instead of just 80% as the mouse control probably did!!

Its not that bad for headers, and for tricks actually find it better than a gamepad. Its so simple, press the wheel and perform the mouse gesture!

Passing is awesome, especially the through balls. Shooting however, needs a lot of work to do.

I know passing can be aimed with gamepad too but stupid EA haven't provided the game with even 60% of the precision gamepads can offer to games. Passing is still the 8 directional, straight to man one, except for the through balls. You press the pass button and it goes all the way easily, whereas in the mouse you have to properly aim your pass and make the moves after thinking.

Glad some people agree with me. I think the games for windows standard is a supurb move from Microsoft. If anyone here plays race driver GRID then they will have noticed how flawless the 360 controller integration is. As soon as you come to the menu it says "press a for this" "b for this" etc. Makes it so simple. Hopefully FIFA 2010 will do this.
