Well at least a patch came....but the fixes are pretty much nothing to what all we mentioned in the constructive criticism thingy....

And yes the stats bug remains. Just won a game 2-0 with the new world class keepers and nope no update in stats. Great Job EA ( in a very sarcastic tone).

nothing about longball that work @ 100% and keeper low in international ..
Maybe a patch for precision of longball and increase level of keeper must be good

downloaded the patch #2 (the .exe, not with EADM), installed the patch, and now FIFA09 doesn't start, error "application FIFA09.exe", great!

It was the D3DOverrider of RivaTuner the problem, with D3Doverrider in background, fifa crashes, without D3Doverrider, no probs!

Ok it's finally been released, not a smooth transition by any means too, in fact a painful process.

There is no music online anymore just eerie silence, in the cold anti social Fifa 09 lobby. How on earth can u release patches without testing them fully for errors like the one mentioned.

The false alarm upload by EA in EADM for patch 2 was bad enough and those of us unfortunate to install that bad patch had to uninstall/reinstall the whole game again.

I'll make it clear EA Sports Fifa 09 PC team, this is very disorganised and catastrophic, I for one am not impressed in the slightest with this poor service and attempt at patch update, yes I am disgruntled and this feeling is not going to subside soon either.

It's about time someone there in authority took some serious action and ended this farce with updates.

Yeps, that was the first thing I did. I also removed the editor from the Fifa 09 root. I also tested other levels and different keeper/difficulty combinations; see my thread:

EA have fixed the other difficulty levels

Hello . Where can i get the new patch ? by sohort : 'till yesterday , online mode was ok . today i get a message to upadate for playing online . I did that , i've runned the patch from c:/programdata/cache/anonymus but nothing .I start the game and yet the update window appears and if i click yes ( update ) nothing happens . PLease help me . Mike

Sorry, I'll explain. At the top of the page, there are threads that say 'Sticky' before the thread title. One of them is about the patch, hold on a sec and I'll go get the link for you.

How to download and install the patches

Invisibility put in an appearance just now; solved it by alt-tabbing out and making a sub (seems to work all the time). Maybe EA can't find out what's causing it?

Well, there's no Cross of St George flag, either. It's really no biggie to me.

Edit: @NutUnited: Since I can now de authorise my PC, does that mean I'll be able to sell Fifa 09 to a second hand games shop when Fifa 2010 comes out? No point holding onto old sports games, unless the newer edition is inferior.

I think the code is too old to be checked now. Maybe that's why they just add new stuff to it.

ohh come on man, you know as well as me that the union jack is more associated with england, well most scots see it that way, in reality its not, but us scots see it as the english flag, our national flag is the st andrews cross and thats that..

But why should the Cross of St Andrew be used in the English league if, as you say, people see the Union Flag as the English flag? its not off topic at all, i pointed this problem/issue out to EA and they told me to watch out for the patch's to see if it gets fixed, and its not, so it isnt off topic, and frankly iam not talking just to you, iam talking to everyone, and hopefuly one of the daftys from EA too.

yes it is, look at fifa08, its different, that says it all, and we need different flags for different countries leagues anyway, so it is wrong !

Pardon me Im not scot or englishman but... in some sports scotland and england has their national teams (football, rugby) but in some sports they are represented as UK team (ice hokey, basketball, atletics).

We are talking here about football simulation game so, yea, scots should have their own flag. And english too. But dont think its a big deal. I do not asociate union jack with england but with UK.
