Yeps, it all comes under attention to detail which, as I've said before, EA are sadly lacking in.

Seriously guys, I am not defending FIFA because I think it needs a lot of improvements but you just have to stop posting threads about your PES love! I can't play PES for more than 10 mins with its floating ball/players! I also can't deny that it captures some realistic aspects of football but the gameplay of the new version (08-09) is really bad IMO!
In my view, the only part of football that PES captures better than Fifa 09 PC is the heading physics and aerial battles.

Sorry to say what you are refering is just a mere variation of textures.Very easy work with photoshop, But creating the ambience of realistic football pitch is quite the other thing which requires proper illumination with high dynamic range imagery (HDRI) , proper detailed stadiums and players and most importantly the supportive animations. I mean look at how PES 09 simulate Rain , lot of the time i was absent minded just watching the realism of the rain simulation. look at how the flags in the linesmans hand move with the wind , look at how the crowd waves flag , look at how the refaree react within the pitch with all the circumstances and its not a cut scene , just how a real world referee would have acted .. come on my friend , its not all about the cheap turf textures u should look at .

And I recently saw a video of PES 09.The celebrations are fluid.

That's because they actually zoom into the action after a player's scored. You don't see a player in the middle of the box one second and doing a dumb dance at the touchline the next and you don't see a player score a last minute winner and be given the time and space to go do the 'Robot' in the corner! As far as attention to detail goes, PES has always thrashed Fifa (on PC, at least).

The difference between them is the fact that PES has the same platform for all consoles !!That means it sucks beacause FIFA 09 on xbox is more bether !!

That's cool and all but the gameplay is really bad IMO! I can't even stand looking at players' faces; they just look flat and dead! Not to mention the running motion!! I like to play this game for a few minutes just to enjoy the stuff you mentioned; but I just can't get into tournaments and spend hours on it like FIFA...

In fact i play PEs 09 all day and un installed fifa after playing the 1st day cause i felt utterly bored. If u cant feel the excitment of football pitch in the gameplay what good is it ? if u cant feel the simulation waht good is it ? Simulation means recreating the exact environment that lets you feel like you are playing the game yourself which masively lacks in fifa due to the slow responsivness of the buttons and lacking in details.u feel like u r just playing a game where unrealisticness is taken for granted. it feels like waiting a year between ur pressing the button and the players reaction to that.in fact it happens more when u playe PES 09 cause players are ultra responsive to your every command within the fraction of a second.

I bet you love hockey! To be honest you don't really like football you like FIFA and that just differs completely from football! The fast paced ball that moves like as if its sliding on ice and the smaller football pitch.

I think your either pretending to hate PES because your a fanboy of FIFA or really a true hockey lover. Because if your purely a football lover, genuinely then I would suspect that you love PES too but just making out that you don't like it. I don't like some things of PES and I don't like some things of FIFA either. But to exaggerate on the bad part of it is just being sly! Its just way too sly to me to attack the gameplay and exaggerate that player faces are dead! You know perfectly well that they arent.

And you probably know already that ball physics and FIFA 09 ball graphics is poor.An interesting observation noones been able to backchat when I said that the graphics of the ball in PES is better looks round and does not have sharp edges like an octagon! Noone seems to deny it! Comeon I challenge you to prove me that FIFA is better on that department!

Click to enlarge to see the ball graphics, this is proof and not just talk, talk!!!

PES 2008 screenshot click to enlarge see the blue ball

Now I give you a challenge can you show me one FIFA 09 screenshot from PC version that has that kind of graphics without the ugly octagoned cardball made out shape?!?!?!

I didn't talk about FIFA. Did I? Just to make it clear, I always criticize FIFA and I have always wanted it to be a perfect simulation game; which never happened. That's why I played PES more than FIFA before 2008. In 2008 I played the Ps2 version of PES for a while and then I played EURO08 for a month or two. For the rest of the year I didn't play any football game. Then came FIFA09 and PES2009, I didn't like both! lol. But I enjoyed playing FIFA09 more than PES; still I don't find any of them the simulation football game that I really wanted to play. To conclude, I just think that for this year on PC, it all comes to personal preference! Since I enjoy FIFA more, I just play it! Nothing wrong with that.

About the ball, I don't know why would that matter to me!

I love all of these reasonable, well thought through comments that really contribute to the discussion. With this kind of constructive conversation, EA really should really recognize the PC players as a community...

Yes, it would seem that many around here are uncomfortable allowing others their own opinions...

Kind of reminds me of this article (hint: replace every occasion of 'the other guy' with 'the other football PC game')

nice comparisons!
well, thats pretty much settled my decision to order Pro Evo, just bought it from Play.

although, i'll still play fifa for its better Be a Pro mode. And hopefully EA sort the stupid Ready to Play bug and the insane lag online.

This bit seems especially relevant...

Quote:
The report also confirmed that even if you were able to communicate with these other citizens, your passion and conviction would never be enough to convince them not to vote for their candidate, just as they would never be able to convince you not to vote for your candidate, and just as nobody can convince anybody else that what they believe to be right is wrong, regardless of how clear the evidence to the contrary may be.

The report maintained that, during your purely hypothetical discussion, both of you would come off as smug, narrow-minded, or downright ignorant if you tried to criticize the other candidate's positions on key issues such as abortion and *** rights. The ensuing argument would only further cement both of your feelings of disgust toward the other candidate.
Forgive me, we've gone off topic But this does just sum up the whole argument nicely...

EDIT: The swear filter *'s out g@y? lalala?
