Must have patches/mods for Fifa 09

Post all the patches/mods you see as a necessity to make Fifa 09 enjoyable for those who are completely new to Fifa 09 PC and/or using mods: Post now updated with other's suggestions.

1. http://www.zshare.net/download/20314446daf6b6a3/ This is an editor for Fifa 09, with which you can enable Legendary mode and legendary keepers (vital for making two player and possible online a challenge). For some reason, Legendary mode is the only mode where the AI actually tries to close you down and uses it's head when it comes to attacking you (and defending).

2. http://md.fifa-evolution.com/09_Lighting_Patch.exe This fixes the lighting for overcast and most importantly, night time matches. Say goodbye to that ugly astro-turf look of night matches, now they look really good!

3. Realistic nets for FIFA 09 Without this, the nets look (and move) like they're made from barbed wire. This patch makes the nets look good and move well to boot! For some reason, the roof is transparent for me, but a lot of other people seem not to be having that issue.


4. This gameplay patch changed these settings in FIFA 09:


Keeper React
( Keeper sees the ball later, but react more faster, which tends to astouning situations) Backspin X
( if you hit the ball the right way you get the right drive and punch to the ball) Spin X
( improved effect at inrist shots) Shot X
( Bal gets more drive during shootings and less shooting help] Gravit X
( ball is more heavy and is not floating through the air) Pass system X
( passes are faster and more direct) Game extension X
( players can be controlled more direct and show much more reactions)
( distress of the oponent has more effect on your crossings, passes and shots)
( collisions are more spectacular between ball and players, as well as between player and playerzw.)
IMPORTANT! This gameplay does not include any changes of the CPU AI, yet!

5. Unlock Patch: http://italia.soccergaming.com/modul...=getit&lid=855
This patch unlock all the shop items at 0 points and let you save the profile without editing anything else (no game files). Moreover it unlocks also the legendary difficulty that you can choose in the settings of the game.

6. http://files.filefront.com/FIFA+09+P.../fileinfo.html Supposedly the first official EA Fifa 09 patch. But not announced on this forum officially, so I have my doubts.

7. http://md.fifa-evolution.com/09_Popups_Tool.exe This allows you to switch between different TV overlays just by alt-tabbing out. You can choose from Premier League, Setanta, Champions League and many more. Hopefully, MD will update it to include scoreboards...

Edit: This one (No.7) seems buggy. Stats such as 'total shots, total goals for season' etc don't appear with these popups. It also might be responsible for a weird bug (players disappearing), so install at your own risk. Well, that holds true with all unofficial mods, really; any one of them could cause problems.

Yeah, I tested that patch yesterday, great work indeed. As I had imagined, it used and edited the ai.ini file.

But if anyone can contact Shorelooser, just pass my one message to him. Instead of exporting the entire ini.big file, he can just place the ai.ini file in the root directory and the game would read data from THAT one. That way its much easier to uninstall too...

So I've downloaded these two. I extracted the Nets patch and I see a Batch File that is called 'install nets patch'. So I just click on that and the patch is applied? Also, regarding the lighting patch, I don't get an option to extract? Do I just click on the icon?

Would you say it's worth getting and if it does all go wrong, how do you uninstall it?

Well basically just first install the patch in an empty folder and copy the required files to the required folder structure in the FIFA directory, renaming your older files for backup.

Question: Can the patches work simultaneously without any problems? For example, the "lighting patch" for the night games won't clash with the new 150 "stadiums patch"?
I am asking because i understand that the stadium pack changes the light effects a bit

Well, I have the stadium pack and the night lighting patch. The stadium pack doesn't change the lighting at all, it's just that they don't look as good as the EA made stadiums because they don't have realistic looking floods. It doesn't actually do anything to the lighting, just the general look of the stadiums. No conflicts between those two, in fact, I think I'm using all eight patches and haven't come across any problems.

Great, Thanks again. I am now downloading the stadium pack, but it's gonna take a while (16kbs)

Oh boy, it took me fifty minutes and that was at 110kbs (I usually go at around 250 - 300kbs, but that site is slooooooow)!! Well, it's worth the wait.

Edit: The only one I'm not using is the Unlocker patch, I'm using the misc editor that was posted here to get at Legendary.

Yeh, my speed is also around 300-350kbs usually, but that site is super slow now. I am only 35% way through and that took more than 1 hour.
