If you have trouble getting the FIFA 09 patch EADM to play online heres how to do it!

Loads of people are PMing me regarding how to download the patch so I decided to post a thread with instructions on how to do so, so that way I do not have to keep replying to every individual as it makes it difficult for me.
This hasn't been posted before so you might as well as read it if you havent got the patch yet!

To get the patch from EA Downloader Manager here's how to make it work.
Reinstalled FIFA 09!
First delete FIFA 09 and install it again.
Then after installation is complete, it will tell you for EA Downloader Manager if you aint got it install it!!! If you've got it and it still tells whether to install it or not click on it to reinstall it as this may clear up problems from the past!

After that go to the game and register your game.
C:\Program Files\EA Sports\FIFA 09\Support this is the link go there and clik EAregister even though you may have done it previously but this is important so that EADM recognizes your FIFA 09 as a valid copy.

Note: DO NOT in anyways delete EA Downloader Manager it will be catestrophic as next time the EADM will not recognize your FIFA 09 copy as a valid purchase, which would thus lead in not allowing you to give you the latest upcoming patch.
In registering your game with your EA master account your ready for the patch.
Now do not go to EADM and even if you do it won't help you download the patch as the Home tab in the EADM will be blanked out with a white screen anyway so don't worry if you apparently think that you cannot find the patch from there directly.
To install the patch click on FIFA 09 from your C:\Program Files\EA Sports\FIFA 09 Basically just click on the FIFA 09 icon to launch the game.
A notification box will popup after clicking FIFA 09 telling you that a new FIFA 09 patch is available to download click ok to download it!!! EADM wll pop up and in the home page it will automatically start downloading the patch!!!

And that's it your done! go to the game login with your EA persona and password. If you don't know what persona you have login using your email address and password to EASPORTSWORLD.COM login and check out what your persona is. If you aint got it create a desired persona of your choice. Select it as a default EA Persona ID.
Launch FIFA 09 and register by clicking the username of that chosen (your) persona and password! Type in your Serial number from the back of your FIFA 09 manual. That stage is obviously complete now.

The next stage
Go to online gamemodes and download the latest monthly roster update+download the adidas form update. If you've not, already chose your favourite league one of the 6 leagues for the free adidas trial do so!

And that's it, hurrah your ready to play FIFA 09 online!

Well I uninstalled FIFA 09, installed again, registered Online, still it does not solve my problem.

When I start FIFA 09, a pop-up comes saying a latest update is available. If I click OK, nothing happens. EADM does not open automatically.

NOTE:- Before starting the game, I opened the EADM which resulted in Online Updation of newer version...i again tried registering the game again which was successful, but I am not able to get the Download to play online.

Is there anything I missed??

Well actually it should be fairly simple. What you do is reinstall the game from, you can reupdate your EA downloader manager with the new version, no problem. Once you do that I remember that if you go to internet options from control panel go to security tab and jot down the bar to medium settinglalalala apply.

Try with the privacy too. If you have any personal firewalls such as norton disable it temporarily. If you got windows firewall disable it temp, or go to it and add FIFA 09 as an exception. You can do that with any other antivirus software you've got. Firewall must allow it so that it corresponds with the EA downloader manager or else the firewall may block the transition.

Now since its all done, make sure that the firewall is not blocking EA Downloader manager too because you'll need it for it to pop up when updating your FIFA 09 game.
if you've done all that now just simply remember that after you have installed the game it will promt you for registration register with your EA Master account and password.
Now click FIFA 09 as normal wait a few seconds and you'll see that EA downloader manager pops up or is working in the background. It will inform you of patch number 1. Install it hit yes.

Now click on FIFA 09 again the EA downloader manager will pop up again promting you for patch number 2, install "YES". Wait for the downloading a red bar with 100% as soon as thats complete automatically. Press FIFA 09 again for the 3rd time and game will launch as normal.

Now login with your persona from the EA account in which you just regstered previously. Login with email address and password! Once that's done you will enter your FIFA 09 serial key enter it, then login with your persona from your eA master account. And your done!

Enter gamemodes online and reupdate your roster winter transfers. Go back to main menu afterwards and go to team management and reset my squads to updated online so that you can have your corrected squades for offline play too!
Click save or configure your FIFA 09 settings for auto save and your done!

Hi, I did the following stuff:-

1. Did not reinstall FIFA again as already had done it once. (takes a lot of
time with DVD)
2. Changed the Security and Privacy setting to "Medium". Also, I turned off the Firewall and Antivirus..
3. Registered the game again.
4. Still the EADM did not open automatically when FIFA is launched and "Yes" button clicked on the Pop-up (for downloading updates)

5. Then I tried uninstalling the EADM, and then reinstalling it again. This time did not made any updates for the newer version.
6. Again the same problem, it does not open automatically when FIFA is launched, but if I keep it open when FIFA is launched, it shows that EADM is in use by FIFA. It shows an icon where it shows the full size of FIFA download to happen. But, that icon row disappears after 1 or 2 seconds. Ideally it should have shown a Patch download icon as you said rather than full FIFA download.

This is frustrating buddy...!! Please do help if you can...!!

NOTE:- I have a FIFA 09 DVD from where I installed the game.

If you have seen the icon row and a small FIFA 09 logo picture in EADM try to click on a green button with the play logo in it. A purple bar will be moving indicating that its downloading and then it should pop up.

I had the same after a few trials EADM responded! If not try using the older version of EADM. I havent got a clue how it works with the newer version as I didn't try that. But as far as I remember I have uninstall FIFA 09 several times in the past and have installed it again and have never had issues installing the patches.

If you still have further troubles. There's always the easy shortcut round to solving this problem
Here's the guide posted by nutunited How to download and install the patches Just make sure you install the appropriate patch version from the country that you bought FIFA 09 from.
All you have to really do is install patch 1 and patch 2 manually. And it will work in the same way. Once this is done the rest is simple.

Hey, it worked...finally..!!! Actually no need to click "Yes" on the pop-up, the file download starts in the background. If "Yes" or "No" is clicked, the download stops instantly....The Forum Link you gave has this mentioned at the last...!!!

Hey man... i got the patch online and downloaded it 2 the Fifa 09... It updated and i was able 2 play online...However, when i took off the game, it would not restart..Anyway 2 fix this.? I would rather not play online if the game has 2 be reinstalled every time.. HELP PLEASE!!!!

i am also 1 of da 1000 victims of this stupid patch problem .....
..but i i did it by fluke evrything is fine
nw.....but ...but...but....
somethings got 2 go wrong in the end.....

i start the game
sign in 2 my online widget
then it sign's me in ....
but then in 1 min my fifa crashes and i com 2 the desktop..
i can log in sometimes[only thrice i guess i have manage 2 sign in widout a prob] but mostly the fifa crashes i have done evrything from reinstallin and wht not....
plz help me here......
