Default FIFA 09 Misc. Editor BETA "Download"

Hello guys.
I've been working on this before. This is a misc. editor. Well all it does is create a locale.ini file for you according to your needs. It has options for

  • Resolution
  • Game Speed
  • Fatigue
  • Difficulty
  • Keeper Difficulty
Now since this is BETA software I would assume there could be some bugs and it may not work in certain areas. Sorry about rushing this release but I have had really less time.

There is keeper difficulty legendary for testing purposes, I haven't tested it myself so would like if you guys could.

To use it, just place it in the root directory and run it, choose the required config and save it. Cheers.

The download link is here. Please give me the valuable feedback so I could work more on it. Thanks.

Cheers, enjoy using it.

I can't really notice much difference between Fatigue ticked or unticked. I'll let you know how the keepers are in two player when I play my nephew later.

Speed, resolution and difficulty seemed to be working as they should do. As I said before, the keepers are sometimes too good on Legendary, they all act like Buffon! Why couldn't they be scaled according to their real life abilities?

I don't know, teh game makes much less use of probabiliti factors and abilities lol!

But yeah, The legendary keeper difficulty indeed works?

I've tuned some other options for myself where I've almost solved the AI free kick scoring problem (The keeper saves them), and some goalie problems. Now the goalkeeper reacts a bit quicker... but this should go in the gameplay patch project.

Hi glad im glad to hear about the gameplay patch....i think we must give more consideration about the ball movements, that is how they rolls, bounce, etc

Yeah, I've been observing that, and sadly EA have made our job tougher, because we don't know what units the values in teh game are lol. Still I'm trying to find a relation between them and when I do, I'll tweak them according to some observed real world values.

For example, I've just fixed the crossing range in the ball trajectory, the passing range etc., according to videos I saw and the data I collected about stadium sizes from google earth.

Can we change the players robotic movement to allow them to move 360 degrees or another option to make them move more fluidity

That is partly animation involved. I don't think we're in a state to edit animations anyways, atleast not me.

yeah i understand but we have to tweak the responsiveness of the players...for example they can dribble more swiftly

Ok, I've played two player now and I believe it has worked! There were a couple of long range shots going in, but that does actually happen from time to time in real football. The games were fun, frantic, brutal and challenging for both of us. Most of all, they were huge fun!

Well done to you, sir!

Has anyone tried it online yet?

I'm pretty sure it won't work online as it is locale.ini based. However, I'm working on the ai.ini based one, which should hopefully enforce the values for online also.

@Dilshad - I think tweaking responsiveness can be done. EA have set some delay values in button press. Those, as well as button power up rates can be tweaked to give better responsiveness for atleast passing and shooting.

i did play around with those .ini file and found that you can change speed of power up rate and also ..i did change some value on player_turn_speed (i'm not 100% sure but something like that, can't find it though cause i just uninstall 09) and i found that if you play trick with right stick ..player will perform that trick in high speed

Yeah I know. I'm currently testing all sorts of variables in that file, for example ball square velocity and gravitation.

What I've learnt by now, is, in FIFA, three plane physics act on the ball. XZ plane, X plane and square plane(Or XY Plane). To find the perfect combination we'll have to tweak all of them, but as I said before, EA has made our job tougher because we don't know what units those values are in.
