Default Online problem ( Ready to play?)

Has anybody had the problem where you go into "Quick Ranked Game" and you've got everything set up for you opponent but the " Ready to play" text is unhighlighted so you can't click it?

If you know any soloutions to this please share!
Thanks!

There are quite a lot of people having this issue and they're not using any routers or firewalls. I've opened all my ports (well, those required) and it worked fine in FIFA 08. Yet I can only start a few matches in FIFA 09. So I don't know what EA has changed, but I'd like them to change it back....

If you have problems and your ports are open, make sure you HOST the game.

That doesn't really seem to do much for me. I have my ports open and usually host the games, but I still get a lot of greyed out 'Ready to Play' and/or I can't see the selected team of my opponent.

I have yet to play a single game online because of this I have opened ports, switched my firewall off etc and nothing works. I wouldn't have bothered buying the game if I knew this would be the case - the main reason I bought it was to play online.

Earlier on I played online for the first time For an hour or so, I was able to play pretty much every time. I'm not sure what changed but I'll settle for it. I'm off to see if it's still OK now. I hope you(and others with the same problems) have the same luck

I have the exact same problem, and many other players do. I play Fifa on easo since 2004 and i always have been able to host games. I have a router and my ports are opened, so I dont get it. It seems like a bug....

go too PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall and go to routers (look for it on the home page) thank click ur router...and click fifa 2007, but of course, the fifa 07 servers are different to fifa 09 so go to the back of ur fifa 09 book, (pg 15) and write all those thing e.g. http and https...and ur done...

I've managed to play 5 games online today! All of them have been fine except one that seriously lag but it was probably the other persons internet or mine.
Its annoying, because either you can press "ready to play" or the other person can. Not both together. Occasionally you will get two together which is good (:
Come on EA. Release a patch that will fix this!

Default Same unhighlighted "ready to play"

I have the same issue with ready to play being inactive... I know it's from my router because the problem started once i bought it.. I've triggered all the ports from the manual... I can play but with few players.. I hope u'll find a sollution for this issue because i believe it's spreaded. Pls do not tell me to check the ports couse i've checked and overchecked and checked again.. Any suggestions??

Karl
You've installed a patch or edited one of the game files.

Move the prompt, and see what file it's stalled on (writing it down might be a good idea), then press ok (to the prompt).

Insert the disk, exit any auto play screen that might appear, then go into My Computer > right click on the disk drive with the fifa 09 disk in it > click "Open", then click "Search" and search for the file that it has stalled on. Copy that file.

Now go into the location where fifa 09 is installed (usually C:\Program Files\EA Sports\FIFA 09) then search for the the file that the patch stalled on. Right click on that file and click "Open containing folder". Paste the file that was copied in the previuos paragraph.

Run the patch again. If it stalls on another file, you will have to repeat this process as what ever patch/editing you've installed/done has had an effect on other files .

The only other thing you could do is to completely uninstall then reinstall fifa 09. Then install the patch.
