Just a warning: none of the patches/mods mentioned in this thread are official, and EA obviously has no control over these authors. While I can personally vouch for most of the downloads listed below, please be careful when you download them (as you should always be), and make sure you have adequate antivirus/antispyware & firewall protection on your PC. Also if anyone finds a virus in any of these files, please inform me straight away! I know some of MD’s installers cause what I believe to be false positives on some virus scanners, but if you’re uncomfortable installing them that’s up to you. I’ve installed all of them on my machine and have had no problems MD is a trusted maker of patches, mods and tools for the FIFA series after all…

These patches, mods and tools may cause FIFA to stop working, or to no longer work online – so do yourself a favour and use apollox’s backup program before applying any of them – either that or just make a copy of your entire FIFA directory and keep it safe, wouldn’t want to lose one of your 5 installs over this!

YZKYEHIA's Controller Compatibility fixer Mirror 1 2 3 - Fixes compatibility issues with certain controllers

Arslan’s Realistic Net patch 960kb – Changes the default nets to a much easier on the eye version.

Outsider87’s unlock patch 2.00MB - Unlocks everything in the Fan Shop, tournaments and legendary mode

MD’s game updates/patches have always been excellent, so head over to his page on fifa-evolution.com for regular updates

Ambient Sound patch 556kb - Increases volume and frequency of ambient sounds (crowd chants, passing/tackling etc.)
Lighting patch 480kb - Fixes the overly dark lighting in night games
Cinematics patch 940kb - Changes some of the default cut-scenes if you're bored of the same old ones

Apollox’s Backup tool 259kb - Tool for backing up the important FIFA 09 game files before editing anything, very useful.
Music Changer by Mania software 2048kb - Allows you to change the default music to your own playlist of music from your own PC

Rinaldo’s Fifa Master tools on Sweetpatch.tv
Rinaldo is a legend in the FIFA world and has been creating the FIFA master series of tools for a number of years now, and they just get better every time! Most famous of all his tools is, of course, Creation Master – which generally doesn’t take him too long to release, so expect 09 in the coming months Just don’t bug him Oh, and while his tools are free please donate to the charities he has selected if you can

Internal Master 09 - editor for the files saved by FIFA 09 including: career files, tournament files, squad files and cooperative files.
File Master 09 - Navigate through the FIFA 09 file system. Import and export any file from archived files. Regenerate FAT specific for FIFA 09.
Db Master 09 - edit and expand the FIFA 09 database

Flag tool 2.07MB - Import/Export (including mass import/export) flags. Support PNG 512x128 or 256x64 (32 bit)
Kit tool 13.5MB Import/export kits (BMP or PNG: 512x1024) and minikits (PNG: 128x128.)
Adboard Tool 1.72MB - Import/export adboards (PNG or BMP 512x128.)
Boot tool 5.92MB - Import new boot textures (PNG 256x256)
