4GB DDR2 800
Geforce 8600GT 256MB ( graphics driver 178.13)

I had this problem too, but only once I started giving FIFA09.EXE custom settings using the NVIDIA control panel, overiding things such as AA, etc. Have you done this? When I set them back to default it was fine again.

Try rolling back the latest nvidia drivers. I can see Mony you got graphics driver 178.13 which is the latest and it seems to be problematic I had a large black spot on the pitch in PES 2008 during replays using that driver. Try rolling back to the older drivers and see if it happens. Cos I have the same graphics card Nvidia GeForce 9600GT but in 512 MBs video ram and i don't have any problems such.

i have the 8600GT and i have no problems whatsoever. This is just a random guess but is it something to do with the 64-bit version of Vista?

Nope, for me it was old drivers. Updating to the latest for Vista did the job for me, and now I can even force AA Multi-Sampled without any problems.

The inbuilt GPU, 6100 supports SM3 so it must be a driver problem. Try uninstalling them totally and then reinstalling them, and then resintalling the game, and also update your DirectX.

hey, on graphics problems, i have fifa 09 that i got a couple of days ago, but it's almost completely unplayable on my pc. it seems to freeze and then unfreeze a couple of times per second, so that the players seems to jump from place to place, and the ball moves in jerks.
i'm not sure how to fix it and i've looked around on other forums, so any advice/people who had similar problems would be excellent.
cheers.

Welcome to the forum .

It may be a problem with your graphics card as it isn't supported in fifa 09 (my box says 6600 or greater), however you may be able to fix it by playing at the lowest resolution possible, turning the level off detail down to low, and turning 3D grass off. If this doesn't work, you'll have to get a new graphics card .

Hope this helps .
