Hmm i was expecting at 95% FIFA 08 , but after i played the demo i can say it's 80% FIFA 08.The crowd is horrible , same refferies without AI , the gameplay changed a little bit , but the engine old and the moves of players still are robotics , btw can't be compared with xbox360 or ps3 version. In conclusion : I hope next year we will have a REAL NEXT GEN game , like on xbox360.Maybe other people will say the game is good , but they don't make comparation with console version...

I would love to have some advanced graphical settings! I want to enable AA.

The game is not bad really, Hope it turns out to be better with time. It would have been better if EA dropped FIFA08 altogether and made a scalable nG version.

I noticed that whenever a player passes the ball to another one, he then run forward and not just stay in place like in 2008. This is a good improvment that i like, and also players seem to actually join the attack much faster

negatives-

the shooting system is very esay or the goalkeeper on a low difficulty ?? .. because in this Demo i can score 3-4 goals in one game .. that thing wasn't last year .. and most of the shoots are ended in the net .. so i'd love to see the fifa 08 shooting system .. not that "New Easy" one ..

positives-

Great 3d man camera .. it feels like you playing on the pitch

Great graphics .. thanks for that

Great players faces and models

Improved gameplay

I noticed that too. But my problem with this is that even my centerback's move forward and if I pass the ball along the backline everyone is gone. I would not like to loose the ball in that moment! Maybe I did something wrong there, but I hope they improve on that, my defenders (especially central) should not be running up the field like that.

Graphics are very nice even if you don't have a great new card it will still be much improved over 08. The movement seem more fluid and the new collision system seems to add to that and make the game bit more realistic. The gameplay is certainly improved over 08, it's a updated Euro08 I'd say. Be a Pro cam is great as well.

The shooting is better, but could still improve on. Guess it could have to do with the difficulty level that it's so easy to score. A problem that I encountered was when setting my controls. I could never assign buttons, if I put passing on button 4 on my controller it still ended up on button 1.

One simple thing: It's a big disappointment that this years' PC version still has nothing to do with the XBOX360/PS3-version of Fifa 09. Still no true next-gen installment on PC. That's one thing PES has over Fifa - the PC version is the same as on XBOX360/PS3.

Ok im a Xbox 360 user but i did get FIFA 08 on pc last year too.

I feel that gameplaywise it feels exactly the same as 08, i havent played euro 08 on pc yet it seems everyone thinks it plays like that.

They really should of got the consoles gameplay on to pc because to be frank it really does suck.

The graphics look alot better although they only look good during cut-scenes, but during the game it just looks average.

6.5/10 for me, the fact it didnt leave me wanting to play another game showed i didnt enjoy it.

i love fifa series...but immense disappointment this years for me...

the good
graphic... stop!!

the bad...long list
easy easy difficult...at the world class!!!
big big big ball..beach ball!
ai cpu...no comment!( no wing play, excessive early crosses,Monothematic attack, the worse gameplay in the last five years!!)
ball bounce rolling...like a rain rain rain day!!
gameplay excessive fast
offside tactic...horrible implementation

conclusion,..one years for a bad bad work!

Congratulations!

Well as the saying goes "You can't polish a lalalala"

Why on earth go to the effort of applying new graphics and player models only to leave the same poor excuse for a game engine in place?????

The so called next gen consoles are way behind PC's in terms of power and yet only EA Sports don't seem to grasp this concept.

Look at Crysis which is a EA published game that has advanced physics and cutting edge visuals and that was out nearly a year ago! What is it going to take to have you wake up and produce a groundbreaking Football game for the PC? Sod the lower spec PC's as if they can't afford to upgrade their PC's to play it they should just go buy a 360 instead.

These cutting edge visuals you claim are not a patch on the 360/PS3 games and why?
Because you're only using shader model 2 that's why! My graphics card supports sm4 and yet you are more bothered about someone with a 4 yer old PC rather giving me an experience I should be getting for my new PC.

Rubbish lalalala yet again and this time you've tried to mask it with a slightly updated graphics tweak.

Advice for you is either give the PC users the full experience next year or forget the PC title all together.

PES 09 I guess again this year

One word. ORRIBLE. Terrible ai, terrible support for gamepads, mediocre graphics, bad visuals for pro mode... the ball's bigger than the players' heads... same old bad gameplay... it sucks bad. PES 2008, yes 2008, is much better, and i'm sure that pes 2009 will be better too.

I would have liked to see different the entire game. I WANT A */η@!ng port. We told this to EA for 2 years, and EA doesn't care.

I've been playing this a little more now this morning. And there is one thing that has to change for the full version. I've seen far to many red cards yet again! In one game 3 players were sent off. Now I know ref's aren't supposed to take tackles from behind lightly but seriously, a yellow card is often all they give unless it's a horrible tackle.

It's nothing like NG, and I think they will have to do that for FIFA10. It's better than 08 IMHO but it's still only a tweaked game with better graphics. It will do for now, but a serious overhaul for next year is needed. Graphics is a nice step in that direction, I only hope the gameplay will see the same change next year. I may pick this up together with PES again this year. Last year I only bought FIFA for Be a Pro and it's certainly better this year and with better graphics, so I think I can have some fun with that if nothing else.

I won't go into the "Next Gen / Current Gen" politics: But I still think that instead of doing all this work on the old engine, they should have just ported the 360 version already.

After playing the PC demo, I am very impressed by the menu system and intro compared to Fifa 08. Intro is now in proper widescreen, for widescreen displays and looks sharper.

Gameplay is improved from Fifa 08. But only in small areas such as in collisions and the shooting force from outside the box. The gameplay still feels too much like Fifa 08. It definitely doesn't come anywhere near as fluid and realistic as PES. The biggest let down is the ball physics. I don't know how to describe the ball movement, but it doesn't feel like you're playing with a football.

Graphics: Slight improvement on 08. I was expecting better, considering all the hype over the graphics.

Player models look horrible: like robotic moving zombies with big veins and dead skin and strange sinister eyes. To be honest, I have never been a fan of the way EA Sports create their players, even on the Next Gen versions. They said the players on PC will be the same as console versions, but that's not true. They still use the same robot looking frame from Current Gen and then paste the XBOX zombie-like details onto it. But the PC players look even more dead than the XBOX version. The foreheads shine like they are made of plastic (it's supposed to be sweat). PES 2008 player models are much more animated, detailed and human like.

I'm not impressed by the 3D grass. It's too tall zoomed in and it doesn't look like grass, especially when zoomed out.

A good point is that the ball seems "slightly" smaller than in Fifa 08 and not so super sized.

Replays are much sharper than Fifa 08.

Conclusion: I won't be buying the full version. I know that full versions usually have better visuals and gameplay than demos, however, the demo is too far behind PES 2008 to have even the slightest chance of making a difference. That's without taking into account the improvements for PES 2009.

Some people are just not satisfied with anything , here you got a pretty decent game , much better than 08 in all aspects, just not nearly as good as NG and most people whine about how completly ****y it is yet its certainly ALOT better than 08, I suggest you go play 08 again and then compare them because I played it few days ago.

Here is my verdict

Graphics are very nice compared to 08
Shots much improved ( when you press right it actually shots right not in the middile of the goal like in 08 sometimes )
Gameplay is very smooth unlike 08 where you could hardly properly control the players
Player coallisions and goalkeeper smoothness is better too

AI is still a bit so so , it should use more wing play , it should sometimes decide to shot outside the box when there are lots of defenders instead of running directly into a defender...etc
Next generation crowd and everything , but this will probably be in 2010
And overall it can still improve gameplay and graphical wise on some fifa 08 NG or something.

BTW some people here are biaching about things like game speed and goalkeeper skill which you can set to whatever you want, completly doesn't make any sense.
