Overall I would definitely purchase a burnt or ripped copy of this game for about 4 pounds.....

It seems that In game rosters are deeper at least looking at Chelsea - so that if I wanted to buy say Van Den Borre from Fiorentina - I would not be told that Fiorentina does not have enough players......

The 3-D grass is a good innovation - and the graphics feels a little more advanced than FIFA 08.....

DISLIKES HOWEVER -

It would be nice to see a crowd with flares going off and flags waving - especially on European nights - like in PES - but just generally some activity in the crowd............

It would be nice to have a camera that zooms closer to the player/ball so I can see Stevie G beatsing a hapless Lescott close up - like in PES

An improvement in the graphics and physics is still necessary - like in PES

Whether there will be more teams in the REST OF THE WORLD Section

Teams that are prominent in World Football or just have really cool names like - but generally more teams should be in that section -

Instead of a bunch of lalalalalalaed teams......

CONCACAF Champions League for MLS and Mexican teams

Please put in some CONCACAF teams in REST OF THE WORLD like -

Everybody was like: WOW, next-gen graphics,wow...the graphics are way better then FIFA 08' ones...but totally not next-gen,+
the gameplay its prettygood, +
the shoots are prettymuch the same as FIFA 08...but better animation +
the pass,sprints and other animations are the same as FIFA 08 except the shoots and some goals... -
the ball is mega-sized -
faster gameplay...+
the players... -
the goals,and other objects - (the same as fifa 08...in the full version the goals...bigger)
crowd animation and graph +

please,al those "-" make them to be "+" in the full version,it would be much better...and if you want to know our opinion...look at them and put in the game what the people think its better(if 80% say the ball is mega-sized,make the ball smaller...,make next-gen etc)EA staff just ignores us...from now on dont request our opinion if you dont even look over it

i know its hard...after 10 years of gaming domination...everyobody says: "better graphics-like in PES"etc.
but if you want to come on the first place again...you should do what the people says...because after all...you want to make people like the game,and buy it...like PES...put Liga 1,Argentina league,Russian League,you will put Australia and Ireland...you should put them at Rugby game...not football

for me fifa 09 looks ok. well ok for ea fifa series anyway. what is worries me is that online mode will be the same **** as in previous versions. quiting, cheating, kit clashing, slow servers, friendly and helpful customers support...

for keyboard players its a great news that u can do now all the tricks via pc i hope.its hard to master the mouse control but its not impossible i tried many tricks that wored like new tricks all worked great rainbow flick,heal to heal,drag the ball.i played the game can easy score goals on demo like 8-9.the bad thing for graphics is player looks like plastics they shine if u have a hard glance on them.but a better game look than fifa 08.

Finally EA fixed the problem with the website, now i can give my own opinion.

Im a PC fifa player since fifa 2001 just for the records, and i play pro evolution soccer since pes 3.

My opinion about FIFA 2009 PC Demo :

What i liked :

-Widgets (great feature)
-Adidas Live Season
-New collision system is great
-Gameplay is better (more fluid, better animations from players)
-Graphics are great ( Player Models are well done, and the 3D grass is great, the stadiuns have a clean look too)
-Finally all the resolutions are avaliable , 1680x1050,1920x1200, great!
-New camera for Be a Pro Mode
-New replays (one of the them is new, and it looks fantastic, the camera following the players move)
-Mouse and keyboard
-New menu ( great! )

What needs to be improved:

-The ball is too big make it smaller
-Players still feel robotic needs better animations
-New physics for the ball, because it feels stuck to the player
-Gameplay needs to be more fluid and free (ex NG consoles)
-Crowd looks awful, stadiuns need more detail, the nets need to be improved, on some views you cant see the 3d grass, shadows from players needs improvement.
-This game needs new cutscenes, im tired of the old cutscenes from old fifas...
-New replays needed too.
-Goalkeepers are awful, you can score a goal so easy... i hope its because the level of difficulty on the demo.
-Adidas Live Season doesnt work on the Portuguese league, how can that be possible?!
-The sound needs new sings from club fans! and 5.1 sound

yes it is the best fifa game on PC ever, but it needs alot of work to get to the same level as the NG consoles, hope EA continues to improve the fifa series on PC in the future.

I'll add a few gripes I'm having at the moment with the FIFA 09 demo, related to Be a Pro.

Controls: Mouse Controls and Movement.
Mode: Be a Pro

▪ When I play a long ball to a player, sometimes he'll pass it all the way back to me even when I just pretty much played him in on goal. I assume somehow I've played a one-two with him. I don't even know how to play a one-two.

▪ 3rd Person Camera - I think the camera is fine but it's restricting on where I can move my player. Eg; goal kick to the opposition but I can't move my way back to my RB position because the camera is focused between my player and the ball.

▪ This is unrelated to Be a Pro but I imagine it's a common occurrence, the ball appears to be out of play but it's not given and play continues as normal. From what I could gather, the ball may have most likely just been touching a blade of white grass. I'm unsure of the FIFA rules, is the ball meant to completely cross the line to be considered out?

▪ Mouse controls are nice but overall could use a little bit more refining!

Having said all that, I'll be buying FIFA on the PC for the first time, step up from the PS2.

Is there a big difference between the medium settings and the high settings? There doesn't appear to be in the screenshots I've seen?

Was playing with Milan against Real. My player was exactly on the center line. Shot and ball went in parabola to the post. Ball hit the ground and bounce into the net. Casillas was just looking at it all the time.
Can imagine how online games will look now.

More annoying stuff:

-Defense usually moves forward when there is a through ball. Thus, leaving the opponent one on one with the keeper!!

-When defending I usually do a standing tackle. Most of the time my player takes the ball but it hits the opponent then my player slides behind the opponent player and... ta dah! The opponent player got rid of my player! Magically!! I have to say that this actually happens most of the time!

The worst bugs are the ones posted through the thread, where the ball gets stuck on the crossbar/post.

The one where u score by hitting the outside of the net (logically a miss and a ball is called out for a goal kick) in fifa 09 however this is a goal SADDDDLY.



This was int he demo though, so maybe/possibly the retail version is fixed to perfection, which i doubt

I think EA should use the forum to tell us (once the game is released) stuff that changed from the demo / ironed bugs / etc.

I would think that the Demo is probably an earlier build of the game and that some bugs have already been addressed.

Ive tried many things like controlling the amount on the shooting power bar, aiming high on the goals (as in above the goals).
I also thought that maybe the way you run and shoot affects it, so i tried to dribble slowly and shoot, ive tried sprinting as i shoot,
as you can see ive tried many things but cant seem to hit the nail on its head. Can somebody, who plays with mouse (keyboard movement), tell me how to shoot off the ground, so i can actually shoot a screamer into the top corner?

Oh, from my quest to find out how to shoot high, i found that finesse shots can be played by double clicking the mouse as you power up your shot. And i dont want to finesse shot it high, because then the ball floats towards goal. Im thinking of a stevie gerrard screamer.

I quite liked the demo, however I thought the players looked a bit thin when playing normally (passing, scoring ect, not cut scenes). The better graphics are nice, however the crowd needs changing. Overall not a bad game and I will be buying it october 3rd.

Having played the demo mannnyyyyy many times by now I have come up with some points:

THE GOOD (COMPARED TO 08')

>Gameplay seems overall more realistic and faster-paced, and all in all more fluid.

>More realistic animations have been added.

>Defence plays less deep, so now through-balls can cut through the defence and make 1-on-1's vs. the goalkeeper actually possible.

> The graphical improvements are noticeable.

THE NOT SO GOOD

>None of the above can even begin to compare with the XBOX360 version.

>EA quite simply should have ported the XBOX360 version to pc instead of trying to bury their abysmal game/graphics engine under vague tweaks.

ON THE MORE HELPFUL SIDE...

>We NEEEEDDDD an AA option in there somewhere because without AA this just accentuates the ugliness of the game. And enabling AA in the Nvida CP is not an option because it causes strange articles and graphical corruptions to appear on the screen.

>Goalkeeper AI is in desperate need of a re-vamp. It may be due to the low difficulty setting, but Goalkeepers simply sit on their goal line on 1-on-1's rather than charging out to close the angle down.

>The shaders that are used during the cutscene-style sequences need to be more apparent during normal gameplay. Gameplay simply looks like FIFA 2005 graphically; it is only when you get to the cutscenes that graphics appear to be remotely "next-gen" (which is now actually current-gen.). Even then, the graphics do not appear to be close to the standard of the XBOX360 version. More pronounced shaders during the gameplay would at least help this.

I hope the final version of this game is improved over the demo, otherwise I'll have to think very hard about buying it, and PES 2009 might just end up being bought instead. I know many many others out there are thinking the same way. EA cannot keep customers simply by offering updated teams and kits. There need to be more noticeable improvements!
