I have few suggestions regarding online mode in 09:
Rating System After the match rating points should be increased according to: Opponents rating but also according to teams. There is difference in wining against 1400 rated players or 1800 rated players. Also it is not the same to win or play draw against Barca with some low league team like wining with barca against barca, for example. This will also encorage players to play with other teams then barca, man utd, milan (70-80% players are playng with these 3 teams). Also, I think that players shouldnt lost rating points for loss or draw (after the match against lower rated player). In real life, teams are not loosing points only getting them for wins. This will reduce quiting significantly and will make this game more fun and less frustrated. Last edited by autogoal; 16-09-2008 at 09:40 PM.. |

I don't know if anyone post this before... i didn't read all the 11 pages of this thread. Sorry.
In the demo i'm using key/mouse with keyboard movement, and everytime i turn off one of the two manual controls (for trhough ball or crosses) the other stop functioning too. I like to use manual cross and automatic through balls but in this demo i can't. I can't turn one on and the other off. Hope it's fixed in the full game. Some other things i like to get an answer: - Where are the finesse shot and cross? Is it still in the game? - How can i do a chip through ball with the new controls (key/mouse)? - How can i shoot higher then the ground? It doesn't matter what i do, my players always shoot the ball on the ground. Can anyone answer? Thanks. |

it's been said in other threads and maybe here as well....but EA's gotta do something about the passing, i mean u've noticed that each time u receive a pass from another player, the passer goes forward...the problem is that this is happening when u pass the ball to the keeper as well and u can very well see u'r keeper almost at the middle of the pitch...EA, FIX it...

Ronaldinho overall 87 is not acceptable. Please correct it on the full version.
All in all, lot of improvements over 08 but I was looking forward to more game play enhancements. Not compareable to PS3/Xbox. Gameplay experiance should be versatile (good to see sheilding. it was practically useless on 08 ), ps3 08 forces you to think. possibilities are endless. On the PC for example, I like pace controll cause its very effective at times but this is only one type of slow dribibling. In FIFA WC2006 there were two types, you could dribble facing your opponant as well as dribble facing whatever direction you choose. What I mean to say is, Im sure there are others who liked something from 06 and something from 08, why should these features be rulled out. They could come out with patches or something to include these features. However, good job with FIFA 09. |

Pros
-Widgets seem very cool...I want to see how this develops. -The graphics are better {not necessarily leading-edge, but better} -Teams playing like teams. I felt that Chelsea didn't play the same way Toronto FC did. -Easier to get into then 08. I actually felt like I had a chance to beat the AI without resorting to breakaways to score. Moving the ball around and finding a break in the defense seems better then previous years. -LiveSeason sounded interesting. A lot like NBA 09's DNA I'm assuming Cons -No Playground Session (1v1) like the consoles? If you're gonna give a nerfed demo compared to consoles, at least give us the op. to learn the new features in a more relaxed manner -Collisions seemed gimmicky. -PLAYERS STILL LOCK ON THE BALL AFTER A FOUL. Very, very, very annoying. -The Through Ball seems harder to controller then previous years, idk if its just me -Players still too far away to be "In The Game". Seems like you're just controlling from afar. -Right Stick Moves are not as clear as its made out to be... Misc Wish List -Playground in PC for next year please. I spent hours with the XBOX 08 demo just based on this -Make more of a focus catching up the PC with the Console versions in terms of what's available. (i.e Moves, ESPN line widget [A part of a bigger problem with EA Sports games period], etc). I'm about to download the demo on My Xbox360 after playing it at gamestop and I can already tell what version I should put my preorder down on. -Make the tricks actually fool people and/or give players a reason to use them in game. Yea, I can do a Ribona...so what? It doesn't give me an advantage (create space, shake a defender, etc). The only useful move I come back to is the knock-on move to get past defenders. -For the love of Pele, include some classic teams and/or situations. It would be killer to replay the UEFA CL final from this year or other important games during the season All in all, an ok game coming out this year. I'm hungry for '10 already tho. Edit-Forgot EA doesn't have rights to the CL anymore...Konami did that horrible card based game. Last edited by shotgunninja86; 18-09-2008 at 02:09 AM.. Reason: Edited for facts |

I like this passing method from good players! - If you just stand in front of the 16er and you make a lop-pass he does it with his ankle (is it the right word?). That looks fantastic!

This would be my "to do" list for next year:
- improving the graphics (because there's still lots of things that can be done) - smoother animations with 360 degree movement, not just this 8 directional movement scheme...it makes them look like robots and the ball seems to be glued to they're boots... ![]() - new cut-scenes, cup celebrations & stuff...make it feel like we're really watching a match on TV ( u know, close-ups, great entry cut-scenes, replays...PRESENTATION )- give the refs they're own AI so that they won't be just running from on the pitch like zombies - advanced CPU AI, tweak the game play even more, make it more realistic (and make them use the wings )- let the ball have it's own physics like in NG - make the keepers look, move and feel more realistic - the eternal problem: the goal nets, fix them - improve the collision system so that there's gonna be much more realistic areal battles & contacts between the players - make a more in depth Be A Pro mode, that's letting the player go trough a 20 year period or so, in witch to start like any player in a youth school and try to get to the very top (just like in the NHL this year, it's awesome) - even more options in the Manager Mode - nice weather effects that effect the game-play also (rain AND snow, to actually feel that u play in winter...) Do these things next year and i will be you're biggest fan ![]() PS: I forgot about untucked shirts
