As the new seasons draws near for Bayern Munich many of the Bayern Munich fans believe this could be a new beginning for their team. The recent arrivals has cat out the doubt that they could beat other top teams in their league and secure a Champions league spot next season.Coach Louis Van Gaal will have a very refined squad to choose from this season.Their inablilty to progress in last season Champions league has made the board offer some pretty high transfer Kitty for Van Gaal to scout out and buy a few players in the transfer market.

Bayern Munich have made a few changes in the back including the departure of Lucio to Inter Milan and Ze Roberto. The big loss could be that of Lucasz Podolski,But his place has benn compensated by the arrivals of Mario Gomez and Ivica Olic from VfB Stuttgart and Hamburger SV respectively.Edson Braafheid joins in from FC twente and so does another Dutch player Daniel Pranjic from heerenveen.Bayern have also signed russian midfielder Anatoly Tymoschuk from Zenit St. Petersburg. All looks well for Bayern as they head into their new season with a hope and courage by their sides.

Bayern Held by Resilient Valerenga

Bayern Munich began their pre-season with a not-so-acceptable but fair draw against Swedish outfit FC Valerenga at the Allianz Arena in Munich Germany.Coach Louis Van Gaal had a fit squad to choose from and rested Luca Toni with Mario Gomez and Miroslav Klose up-front.Daniel Van Buyten paired up with Brazilian Breno at the heart of defence.

Bayern Munich applied pressure from the very beginning and they were given a lead just 8 minutes into the match when Hamit Altintop latched on to a pass from Klose before shotting a low shot past keeper Roy Perkins to make it 1-0.14 Minutes later a controversial decision was given by the referee Dawda Leigh when he awarded a penalty to Bayern following a trip by defender Eric Hagen on Mario Gomez.Frank Ribery stepped up to dispatch the spot kick cooly to give Bayern a well deserved lead but Valerenga hit back and scored a goal at the death of Half yime when a punt up the field by Perkins found Jespen who fed Shelton with a short through ball and he reduced the reduced the defecit to 2-1 with Van Gaal not so impressed with his teams performance.

Valerenga began the second half with a lot of flair as they tried to breach the Bayern defense which was trying its best to hold out and it did but the pressure overwhelmed them in the 69th minute when a Freddy Dos Santos found Kristian Brix at the edge of the box totally unmarked and he volleyed the ball into the top corner for the equaliser as Bayern Munich were shocked by the incident.Frank Ribery was not moved and led the team on a counter only to see his shot sverve inches away from the near post.

Bayern took the lead again in the 76th minute when Hamit Altintop rounded defender Andre Muri before firing the ball into the top corner for what seemed like a match winner.Valrenga shocked the seated 63,000 Bayern Fans when they scored scored an injury time equaliser against a sloppy Bayern defence and rightfully walked away as the more better side.Louis Van Gaal will have to get busy in the transfer market if he is to get any good performances from his side and turn a few frowns the other way in the Board.

Bayern Munich 3-3 FC Valerengs

Interesting game, but I'd expect you to do better. Valerenga are Norweigian too, not Swedish.
