Can you tell me how i fade 2 pictures together

and

can you tell me how i use the free select tool and how i keep the section i have cut out instead of that piece being deleted and keeping the outer area

Tottenham Kick of there premiership campaign against East London rivals West Ham United at White Hart Lane. Last season Tottenham were on top taking 4 points from the two fixtures.Tottenham have news signings Peter Crouch,Keiran Richardson and Kenwyne Jones all fit to play. Mean While West Ham new signing Diogo signed from Olympiakos is not fit after picking up an injury in there pre season fixture at Barnsley. Harry Redknapp had this to say about the season opener against his old club.

"Zola has done a fantastic job since he took over.It is a tough job to take on because the fans always want success and if they dont get the success they soon turn on the manager.Zola has made some decent signings in the transfer market and he has managed to keep most of his better player.I have not doubt about it that they will be in the top half of the league this coming season."
