ITV SOCCER NEWS & UPDATES JULY 22nd, 2009 ![]() ![]() Sir Alex Ferguson eyes yet another Premier League title With the latest interview on ESPN Soccernet, the 67 year old Sir Alex Ferguson has said, "With the Premier League season coming up, Manchester United look forward to retaining the English Premier League title & more." “We’re out of the biggest & probably the most important European Club tournament, the UEFA Champions League due to player doping results. I promise Manchester & the world that next year we will be participating in the Champions League. We have previously won the Champions League three times & two times under my management. It’s a shame we had to give our spot to another team to compete in the Champions League when we completely earned it ourselves. Good luck to all the teams participating this year in the European Cup because next year we will own what is ours.” says, Sir Alex Ferguson. “Let’s talk about what we’re still in. We’re still in the Barclay’s Premier League, F.A. Cup, English League Cup & of course we’re heading closer to the F.A. Community Shield final against Portsmouth next month. This year is certainly going to be a hard one with many teams improving their squads by adding key players that might change the outcome of the Premier League table.” says, the 67 year-old. "It's certainly not going to be easy with Carlo Ancelotti taking on the new managing job at Chelsea and signing key players like like Yuri Zhirkov, who in my opinion is the best player in Russia & possibly more to come which could be a threat to the Premier League teams, but we don't have to worry about them because Manchester United have a strong defense led by Gary Neville. Also as Rafa Banitez & Arsene Wenger look forward to fire up their squad by signing key players the remaining of the summer. Manchester City has also bought young key talents like Emmanual Addebayor, Roque Santa Cruz, Garreth Barry & the legendary Argentine, Carlos Tevez from Manchester United to go all the way & win the Premier League for the first time ever in their history." "It could possibly be hard for us to stay in the same form after loosing 'The World Player of the Year' Cristiano Ronaldo & 'The Great Argentine' Carlos Tevez, but we shall not forget that I have brought David Silva, Luis Fabiano & Antonio Valencia to the United squad & I look forward for the youngster Antonio Valencia, Spain & former Valencia playmaker David Siva & Luis Fabiano to keep the wings & attack warm & as Wayne Rooney & Michael Owen will control the forward." "Many have said that Manchester United have made a big mistake selling 'The World Player Of The Year' & 'European Player of The Year' Cristiano Ronaldo, but I'm Sir Alex Ferguson & I've signed three future stars who will be performing in great form as you have seen in our recent results in our pre-season games." “We’re still the number one club in Europe & I look forward to stay in the same position for ever.” says, United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. - ITV SPORTS NEWS SEASON Arsenal Aston Villa Blackburn Rovers Bolton Wanderers Chelsea Everton Fulham Hull City Liverpool Manchester City Manchester United Middlesbrough Newcastle United Portsmouth Stoke City Sunderland Tottenham West Bromwich Albion West Ham United Wigan Athletic History The FA Premier League was formed on 20th February 1992 and played its first season in 1992–93. This meant a break-up of the 104-year-old Football League that had operated until then with four divisions. A number of events during the mid and late eighties had sent clear signals that fundamental changes were needed to the structure of professional football. The English game was at possibly its lowest ebb ever. Stadiums were crumbling, supporters were faced with poor facilities, hooliganism was rife and English football was banned from European competition. The old First Division became a selling league as many top players were lured by the financial attractions of the continent. The Barclay's Premier League consists of twenty English teams in Europe competing to stay at the top to win the title & the top four are qualified for the UEFA Champions League, the battle of European Clubs. The club to finish fifth is qualified for the UEFA Cup & the bottom three are relegated to the English League Cup. The teams not in the Premier League can only qualify by winning the English League Cup Championship. The only four teams to win the Premier League since its formation are Manchester United (11), Arsenal (3), Chelsea (2) & Blackburn Rovers (1). PREMIER LEAGUE TABLE ![]()

Thanks & my first season match is the F.A. Community Shield Final against Portsmouth. I have all the fixtures posted in the first page of this thread. Just take a peek in to that, but they've changed now, so I will update them today or tommorow before I start.
