I love using the outside of my boot. The spin Quaresma can get on it is unbelievable. I'm working on it though.

Trying to do the rabona, I fail miserable at it.

Anyways, I have to say, this is a one, keep up the good work mate.

°Transfer News
Rumors have been swirling that Lisandro López will be leaving come next transfer window. López although playing very well in Liga Sagres and the Champions League has expressed his disappointment with Jesualdo Ferreira and interest to switch clubs.
Ferreira keeps insisting that López will be going no where, “Lisandro has yet to say anything to me. He will stay at Porto for the rest of the season.” When asked about the rumors of Spanish giants Real Madrid and English up and comers Manchester City making offers to López he would not comment.

A reported £18,000,000 was put down by Real Madrid to sign the Argentine before the summer deadline but terms where not met. It makes sense that López could move before the season is over. He would follow a normal pattern that sees Porto sell their best players almost every season. In 2007 Brazilian midfielder Anderson was sold to Manchester United for a price in excess of €30m. Ricardo Carvalho, Paulo Ferriera and Jose Bosingwa have all made the move to Chelsea netting F.C. Porto a combined €100m.

Porto appear to be very keen on keeping López but with the right price it will be hard to turn down. Players coming into Porto seem to be few as Jesualdo Ferreira doesn’t want to mess with chemistry he has told Rádio e Televisão de Portugal that they look to bring in River Plate scarlet Radamel Falcao. The 23 year old Colombian forward is viewed as one of the world's top prospects. He appeared in 110 games for River Plate netting 45 goals for them. No one knows for sure but we will soon have all the answers as the window opens up soon and we will have all the details for you when they are announced.

Lopez.. Gone to Lyon in real life hasn't he?..

Anyway, if he does leave, Falcao would be a quality player to bring in..

2-0 against Academica..

°December 6th 2009 | Académica de Coimbra - F.C. Porto
1-2

Carlos Saleiro 41st / Lucho González 10th 45th
__________
The game was only 10 minutes old when Lucho González was given his opportunity to put Porto ahead. He needed no second invitation to drill a controlled volley past Boris Peskovic as he would put the visitors ahead.

Académica turned up the pressure as Helton did have to pull off a fine double save from Carlos Saleiro’s deflected effort and Modou Sougou’s follow-up five minutes later as Académica responded, although he spent much of the opening 45 minutes picking off wayward crosses with little difficulty.

He was finally beaten four minutes before the break when, after Lito and Sougou had some nice touches on the ball Saleiro stabbed the ball past him to draw the game even just before haft. However, the respite was short-lived as the visitors once again demonstrated their ability to open up their opponents.

With Diogo Gomes down in the Porto box after challenging for a high ball, Raul Meireles flicked on for Lucho, who raced from his own half into the box before beating Peskovic with a left-foot shot.

Lucho González leads Porto with 10 goals.

Académica returned knowing they would have to be much, much better to rescue the game but made little impression in the early stages of the second half. Bruno Alves had to react smartly with 58 minutes gone to clear Nuno Piloto’s near-post cross at the second attempt with Sougou sniffing an opportunity. But the game should have effectively been over three minutes later when Elano played Mariano González in on the left only for Peskovic to block with his legs.

Indeed, Porto they would have increased their lead with 17 minutes remaining had Peskovic not dived low to his right to keep out Quaresma’s dipping free-kick. Académica’s fortunes were summed up in the dying minutes when Saleiro lashed a shot wildly off target and Sougou completely missed his kick in front of goal.

Taça de Portugal - round one
°December 12th 2009 | Sporting Clube de Portugal - F.C. Porto
3-4
Liedson 18th 62nd Hélder Postiga 37th / Ricardo Quaresma 31st Lucho González 48th 88th Raul Meireles 70th
_________________________________
After 18 minutes Sporting CP took the head much to the home fans delight by going ahead through Liedson’s seventh goal of the season. João Moutinho did well to supply a low cross from near the by-line and Liesdon’s back heel at the near post was enough to beat Helton even though he got some of his body to the ball. Sporting came close to doubling their lead when Hélder Postiga thumped a fierce header against the crossbar from a corner by midfielder Fábio Rochemback.

Porto retaliated and Lucho González was guilty of a glaring miss when he headed wide when completely unmarked at the far post from an inswinging Quaresma free-kick. Quaresma was becoming an increasing threat and forced a low save out of Rui Patricio away to his left after Miguel Veloso had picked out his run into the danger area.

But the Porto were not to be denied and in the 31st minute a superb finish by Quaresma brought them back on level terms. Bruno Alves played a long ball forward from deep in his own half and in one movement Quaresma wriggled away from João Moutinho and volleyed past Rui Patricio from 12 yards out.

Porto’s joy was short lived as it took Sporting only 6 minutes to answer right back a through ball from João Moutinho found Hélder Postiga who was able to out run Cristian Săpunaru and blast the ball just beyond Helton’s reach putting the home team up just before haft.

Sporting CP started the second half on the offensive and Liedson missed a good chance to extend their lead. He got on the end of an Hélder Postiga corner but his downward header from close range bounced over the crossbar. Elano was finding an increasing amount of room on the left flank as F.C. Porto started to dominate and he set up the goal for Lucho González after 48 minutes.

Elano managed to get in his cross despite the attention of two defenders and González did the rest with a close range header drawing the game even for the time being. Elano missed his chance to become hero when he miscued from a free kick 15 yards out after Mariano González was cut down by Veloso. Liedson would make his mark on the game once again in the 62nd minute as he broke into the box and headed a goal for Sporting from a Rochemback cross.

Porto seemed to unravel as they pushed ahead but where displaced mostly at midfield and where nearly scored on again. Hope was found in the 70th minute when Lisandro López received a through ball from Elano and raced ahead. He fired a shot under pressure Patricio was able to saved the first attempt but couldn’t stop Raul Meireles from banging in the equalizer with 20 minutes left in regulation.

The rest of the game was played out very slowly with both teams taking little chances fearing in giving up the late goal. Liedson forced a great save out of Helton in the 80th when he fired into the upper post but Helton was able to snag it out of the air. The game would be decided in the 88th minute when a beautiful cross from Raul Meirelesdipped into the penalty area and found the waiting Lucho González who was able to seal the win burying the ball into the top corner out of Rui Patricio’s reach. With only a few minutes of extra time Porto controlled most of the ball in their own haft waiting for time to expire as F.C. Porto would leave the capital city beating Sporting CP 4-3 and advancing to the quarterfinal in March.

Close match by the sounds of it, but at least you got the win, especially against such big rivals as Sporting..
