Long signs for Arsenal ![]() Arsenal have completed the siging of Irish striker Shane Long. Long was the subject of much drama the past summer as he was set to move to Tottenham and Chelsea but each move never materialized. That left Arsenal with a golden opportunity to hijack the young striker from the Coca Cola Championship. Long and Wenger were both very pleased with the move. Long said" I ouldn't be any happier" after siging around midnight this morning. Wernger told the press" THis lad could become one of the best strikers in the history of Arsenal Football Club." Reading were certainly happy with the deal as they pocketed around 6 million from the transaction. The Reading boss Brendan Rodgers is reportedly going after Barnet Star Paul Furlomng as a replacment for Long.
Also sorry about the graphic. I had only paint I could use so....

Arsenal Shake Off Chelsea With A 1-0 Victory ![]() Line Up Barthez Sagna---Gallas---Di Cesare---Clichy Walcott---Fabregas---Parker Long---Gomis---Van Persie Report Arsenal started Brightly as Gomis had a chance early on. Walcott and Gomis combined brilliantly down the wing. Walcott then fed Long who cut it back. Gomis was the first to pounce but he sent his left footed shot just wide. The next chance was nearly 20 minutes later on 29 minutes. Walcott involved again as his off the ball movment again caused problems for Branislav Ivanovic. Walcott recieved a perfect ball from Francesc Fabregas. Walcott took it around Terry before rolling it across the face of Goal. Long flicked it on and Fabregas was able to get a boot on it but Cech easily saved the effort. Long got the games only Goal on 35 miuntes with a wonder strike. Gomis, Long, and Walcott all working well on the counter as they turned a Chelsea Corner into an Arsenal Goal. Gomis won the ball from a Gallas header. Gomis the ntook it around Ballack before playing in Long around the half-way line. Long flicked the ball over his and Terry's head to make it a 1 on 1 with Ashley Cole. Long decided to play in Walcott. The decision worked out in the end as Walcott again slid it across the 18 and Long slammed it in to the top corner. Anelka almost pulled it back against his former club as he raced through the heart of the Arsenal defense before cracking a thunderbolt into the hands of Barthez. Walcott, Gomis and Long almost combined for a second goal just after half when Walcott crossed the ball across the face of goal and Long flicked it on again but Gomis failed with the finish. We had to wait unti lminute 87 for the next chance. Shane Long bating 3 people before being taken down by Cech. Cech was sent off and Hilario came on to relieve him. Long was injured on the play though and Chamakh came on in his place. Walcott took the spot kick but Hilario made the save to keep the score at 1. In the end though it wasn't enough as the Long strike would stand as the decider. 1-0 was the final at The Emirates. Arsenal 1-0 Chelsea Long 35' Events Gomis 21'Long 35'Cech 87'Marouane Chamkh

Probably after I do 1 or 2 I'll come back to Arsenal. I'll tell you now that my first is going to be an EA united or a Portsmouth.
