Quaresma Struggling To Adjust
![]() During an interview with Gazetta Dello Sport, Ricardo Quaresma told the Italian sports newspaper that he is struggling to adjust to life in Milano. The winger endured a poor first campaign with Internazionale, and was loaned out to Chelsea FC for the second half of last season, before returning to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza this summer. ''Life in Italy is very different to that in Portugal.'' Quaresma said. ''The training and lifestyle are the 2 things I found most difficult to adjust to. I tried my hardest during my first season here but I'll be the first to admit it was a poor season for me, performance wise. Although a move back to FC Porto is always an option, José Mourinho is doing his best to help me here at Inter.'' So far this season Ricardo Quaresma has not made any first team starts. The Portuguese winger was called off the bench earlier in the Serie A campaign, but, after failing to impress, Quaresma subsequently found himself dropped from the first team squad all together, something he admits is not enjoyable. ''Nobody wants to be dropped, it's not a nice feeling when the manager doesn't include you in the match day squad. But, he has a reason for that because my performances have been very poor and I know that I've got to improve. I've spoken with the manager and he told me that if I work hard and impress in training then I will be in the team.'' |

Up front, David Suazo returns to the starting lineup in place of the hapless Diego Milito. Inter need to get a result today if they are to have a chance of returning to the top of the table. Internazionale would take the lead in just the 20th minute, as Dejan Stankovic fired home a cracker of a goal. Mancini ran into the penalty area and fired a low shot on goal, Buffon was only able to parry the shot and the ball fell to Stankovic who smashed a corker into the top corner. The goal stunned everyone inside the stadium as Inter celebrated wildly. The scores would remain the same until the 54th minute, when Juventus substitute Giogio Chiellini levelled up the scores with a 30 yard flyer. Diego faked a free kick, and passed the ball to Chiellini who sent the ball beyond Gianluca Buffon and into the back of the net. José Mourinho would be disappointed to see his team concede in yet another match, as the visitors drew level. With 3 minutes of normal time remaining, there was late drama inside the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, as former Monaco striker David Trezeguet rolled in the winner. Marchionni played a first time pass to Trezeguet, Davide Santon missed the interception, allowing Trezeguet to pounce and slot the ball home past Júlio Cesar, ensuring that Juventus would take all 3 points from the match. The defeat leaves Internazionale in 4th place, behind rivals A.C. Milan, Juventus and Roma. Mourinho's men will need to pick up results quickly in order to avoid being too far behind as the Serie A season enters the middle stages. Fabio Rochemback gave Sporting the lead after a mere 6 minutes, before Helder Postiga secured the win on 66 minutes. The result leaves Inter bottom of the table with 0 points from 2 games, although there is still time for José Mourinho's outfit to change that, Qualification to the last 16 round looks unlikely, with Deportivo and Sporting leading the group with 6 points each. After 6 minutes, Rochemback had silenced the crowd with a superb 25 yard strike which gave Sporting the lead. Simon Vukcevic passed the ball to Fabio Rochemback and the midfielder smashed the ball home to put Internazionale on the back foot straight away. José Mourinho's team selection could take some of the blame, with the Portuguese coach electing to start Patrick Viera for just the first time this season. The scoreline didn't lie, though, as Sporting not only got the goals they needed, Internazionale were totally outplayed by a side that, on paper, looked muchly inferior. In the second half, as Mourinho instructed his team to press forward, Helder Postiga caught out the visiting team's defence, as he slotted a perfect shot past Julio Cesar to round off the victory. As the final whistle sounded, Internazionale were booed off the pitch by their own supporters. 4th in Serie A, and 4th in their Champions League group, things are not looking good for the Nerazzurri. Mourinho, however, will be eager to press on and put these 2 straight defeats behind them as Inter look to avenge their poor displays. ''We didn't play well all game. Our passing was extremely sloppy and we didn't create enough good chances. Sporting were all over us and, to be fair, the margin of victory could have been bigger.'' Mourinho told the press after the match. ''One positve was the performance of Davide Santon. He was awful in his first game but I was impressed with him today and he definitely proved a point out there.''
