Choupo-Moting to the Rescue

^Eric Choupo-Moting celebrates after scoring the equaliser^
MUNICH, Germany - Bayern Munchen have been held to a 2-2 draw with Hamburg SV after a 88th minute equaliser from German wonder kid Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. Hamburg took the lead through Petric but Klose then Podolski gave Bayern the lead until subsitute, Choup-Moting, scored in the 88th minute to give Hamburg a share of the points.

The match started off fairly slowly with Bayern having more of the ball but couldn't do much with it because of the strength of the Hamburg defence. Bayern had more of the possesion and were getting into better positions but it was Hamburg that took the lead. The ball was stolen off Bayern in the middle of the park and Hamburg countered quickly. The ball was crossed into Petric and he was allowed a free header and made no mistake by heading it into the back of the net.

Bayern responed well but still couldn't break down the Hamburg defence. It toolalalalail the 37th minute for Bayern to get the first shot on target and with that came a goal. Schweinsteiger crossed the ball to the far post, Klose bet Boateng in the air before guiding the ball into the top corner with his head. The Bayern fans were delighted after seeing their team be so poor infront of goal for the first half.

This gave Bayern the confidence to grab another goal and they nearly did when Klose found himself one-on-one with the keeper but just when he was about to pull the trigger Alex Silva made a fantastic last ditch tackle. Bayern did take the lead in first half stoppage time. Schweinsteiger dribbled down the wing to the bi-line before cutting in and dribbling around a few more defenders. His shot was saved but it came back to Podolski and he volleyed it into the ground but also into the bottom corner.

Louis Van Gaal would be unhappy with the teams performance, at half time but would be glad that they managed to sneak ahead.

Hamburg nearly drew level ten minutes into the second half. Petric was one-on-one with Rensing and opted to try and chip the ball over the keeper but Rensing just managed to get a hand to it and tip it out for a corner. Bayern came under some serious pressure in the second half as Hamburg pushed forward to try and get the equaliser.

In the 76th minute, Van Gaal brought Breno and Borowski on for Demichelis and Ze Roberto, who was carrying a knock. It looked to be Bayern's day in the 86th minute when the ball was played to Petric at the back post. He headed the ball back across the goal but Rensing managed to pull off a wonder save to stop it. Choupo-Moting was brought on in for the last few minutes and it proved to be a stroke of genius. With only two minute of normal time remaining, Hamburg equalised. Olic headed the ball off the underside of the bar and Choupo-Moting had the simple task of tapping the ball in from less than a yard.

Bayern had a late chance to grab the winner when they got a free kick but Franck Ribery put it straight into the wall. The Bayern fans wouldn't have been happy with the way their team performed and will be looking for a better display next week.

Tranfer Update

^Bayern's newest signing, Christian Molinaro, from Juventus^
MUNICH, Germany - Bayern Munich have confirmed there newest signing for this season, Christian Molinaro. The Italian left-back has joined Bayern for an intial fee of 2,500,00 euros but that can rise to 3,000,000 euros if he makes over twenty appearances. He is known for his pace, stamina and tough defending. He has been at Juventus since 2007 when he moved from Salernitana after they were relegated. He has made over 50 appearances for Juventus but has just scored one goal for them.

He had this to say about his move to Germany, "I'm really happy to be joining Bayern as they are a great club. I had a very good time at Juventus but I felt that Bayern had more potential and a better chance of winning trophies. I hope that I can gain the respect of the Bayern fans as quick as possible." Molinaro has been given the number 28 shirt which he also wore at Juventus.

Else where, Romeo Castelen has completed a 2,500,000 euro move to Argentian giant Boca Juniors. He had grown out of favour at Hamburg and felt that it was time to move on. Also, it is rumoured that Bayern are also looking into the possibility of signing Daniel Pranjic from Heerenveen and Axel Witsel from Standar Liege.
