I'm creating this thread as a means of tracking and posting the goings on of my FIFA 09 Manager Mode, due to one reason or another, I've been unable to play FIFA for months, so now, I've finally gotten everything in place for a triumphant return to glory. I've decided that for my MM I'm going to use Chelsea, however, I am going to use the squad that I put together through three seasons in MM of FIFA 08, so it is notably different from the Chelsea side of 09. I prefer an out and out beautiful style of football and as a result have acquired players the likes of Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez, Dani Alves, etc. I'll post my official squad complete with pictures and ratings as soon as I've completed it through the July/August Transfer Window.

Yeah, it would, but i kinda fell in love with my 08 side, and I put together over 3 seasons, so I'd like to use it and see how it fares in 09, plus this is my first thread and what not, I just want to be able to share the joy I have at my FIFA 09 MM experience with everyone lol

![]() Chelsea TV Exclusive Wessecito Discusses Squad James Boyle sat down with Wessecito just hours after he announced his squad for the 2008/2009 campaign. He openly discussed his squad as well as his recent pre-season tour of friendlies. Chelsea TV: Wessecito, you begin your 2008/2009 campaign with a great amount of confidence about your side as well as your own abilities as a manager, what are your thoughts going into the new season? Wessecito: Well, I look at my side, and I've got to say that I'm pleased, I've worked for three years and I feel like I've truly gotten it right. I feel like we're ready to play the beautiful football that I see in my mind. CTV: What does that football look like to you? W: Smooth touches through midfield and the wings, flowing movement through the wings, and attacking bids working outside in. CTV: And do you have the players to do these things? W: I feel as though I do, working from back to front, Casillas controls play, everything at the back starts with him, and he sets the pace of the play. I like my backline, Abidal supports well on the left wings, Chivu adds pace, to be honest, I never really liked Terry, I feel he's a bit too clumsy to do what I want him to with the football, but defensively there are few better. Dani Alves on the right can control play all the way forward and he works well with Messi. Essien, Diarra, and Mikel cover well in the middle, plus add pace to our forward movements. Mikel can also create like I like in the midfield, I feel like he will get many opportunities in the creative midfield this season. Xavi is of course my firsr-choice in center midfield, he moves well with the ball and spreads around calmly into good spots. Iniesta will provide us with speed on the flanks and in the attack when we need him. Lionel Messi will obviously be given the space and the opportunity to dictate the attack, I'll also give him free reign on the attacking end, allowing him to play where he wants. And David Villa is a world class finisher, plus he can seamlessly join in the creative attack. My only concern with the current side is David Silva, I've begun to feel like his touches aren't smooth enough to suit my needs, and his finishing leaves something to be desired. As a result of this I believe we may transfer list him this August and pursue another option to play in our left flank. CTV: What players are you interested in signing before the transfer window closes? W: Franck Ribery appeals to me a great deal, I'll certainly pursue him, his finishing would be a great addition to the side. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() CTV: You recently returned home from a a match pre-season tour that concluded with a 2-0 win against Real Madrid at the Bernebeau. What are your thoughts on the trip? W: We performed well the whole trip, only conceeding once in five matches. Our scoring and forward movement were impeccable, so yes, I must say that I'm quite pleased. CTV: Who stood out to you? W: David Villa was absolutely impressive throughout the trip, he showed off his striking power with great poise scoring several times throughout the trip. Lionel Messi started off slowly, but by then end of the trip hes was controlling the play and dictating the attack. Dani Alves impressed me thoroughly, he and Messi will be given complete control of the attack. John Obi Mikel played best out of the entire defensive midfield, he also proved he can create when given the opportunity. Taye Taiwo impressed me as well, I gave him the opportunity to play and he responded well by joining the attack as well as creating a number of corner kicks. CTV: Thank you for you for taking the time to talk to us, I'm sure you're anxious to get back home, how's Sarita? W: Oh she's well, a bit under the weather though. Cheers.
