Chelsea- Looking for a Right Mid

All the clubs know it by now that Chelsea are in the market for a promising right midfielder. Luis Felipe Scolari has been given funds by the board and Roman Abramovich to sign a right mid with good potential. Most newspapers are reporting Scolari has about 3-6 names in mind including the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Jesus Navas, Sotiris Ninis, and Di Maria. Reports out of Munich, Germany say that Bastian Schweinsteiger is being sold by Bayern Munich and with rumors persisting Scolari will sign a right mid could we see German winger come to Stamford Bridge? The Sun has reported that Ashley Young a winger from Aston Villa could be a possible target by Scolari.

Bayern Munich have confirmed Bastian Schweinsteiger is for sale after nearly a decade with the club since he was 14.

With the reports of Chelsea in the market for a right-midfielder could this mean the Florent Malouda could be on his way out? Malouda is a left winger mostly but Scolari could decide to play Joe Cole n the left if he signed a right midfielder who would start for the Blues. For today the Blues travel to the Netherlands after the announcement of their preseason tournament with Ajax, PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord, and FC Twente.

Ok today I watched a horrific Man Utd vs Chelsea match then went snowboarding which was awesome, so tomorrow will be the first preseason match with a quick report nothing that big but when the season starts they will be good sized reports, so a quick report and probably transfer update

Drogba & Anelka Tag Team Beats PSV

Under ex-coach Avram Grant the duo Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba didn't work out very well. With the formation new head coach Luis Felipe Scolari implemented the duo intrigued the fans in a delightful match that came down to the 82nd minute winner by the subbed-on Anelka scored for the Blues.

The formation Scolari started the game with (and subs). Four full backs, the outside backs playing as wing backs. Two centre midfielders, two attacking midfielders, and two strikers.

From the start most of the Chelsea reserves did very well. Around the 37th minute Deco was sent off for a tackle that really should have been a yellow card as it was a bit mis-timed. At halftime Big Phil chose Ricardo Carvolho to come off and replace him with Gael Kakuta a promising young talent from Chelsea's academy. As the second half started Kakuta did not play defense of course but moved into the gap Deco had left on the left side.

The 60th minute gave us the first goal of what people would say was a very interesting match. The Blues a man down built up a great play with beautiful passing combinations that in the end had Joe Cole dribble down the wing for a few yards and sent a ball into the middle in the direction of Drogba. The ball actually took a bounce at the far corner of the six yard box and Drogba took a diving header putting the ball past keeper Isaksson.

Five minutes after the Blues goal Juliano Belletti was sent off deservedly as he gave away a penalty kick to PSV Eindhoven. Simmons stepped up to shot low to the left side with the ball rolling right under Cudicini, tying the game up! After the goal Big Phil chose to bring on Nicolas Anelka for youngster Franco di Santo.

Action went back and forth for some time. In the 82nd minute as said before substitute Anelka scored. Michael Essien had passed the ball to him and all he had to do was break past 1 defender and dribble out 40 yards towards goal before blasting away the ball around the upper 90 from about 12 yards away, a magnificent goal! A 9 man Chelsea team had battled and won the game!

Four minutes later Michael Ballack was subbed for youngster John Obi Mikel and the game ended soon after.

In a performance that many cards were handed out for Chelsea these are all the players on Chelsea receiving cards. Yellow cards were issued to Wayne Bridge, Michael Ballack, and Gael Kakuta. Red cards were given to Juliano Belletti and Deco.

After the match Scolari told reporters he was very pleased with the performance of his players but was disappointed with the lack of discipline after his side received a total of 5 cards.
