TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS - AUDERE EST FACERE ![]() Basic Information Nickname(s): Spurs, Lilywhites Motto: Audere Est Facere (To Dare is to Do) Founded: 1882 (as Hotspurs FC) Country: England Owner: ENIC Chairman: Daniel Levy Manger: Jaunde Ramos Captain: Ledley King Vice-Captain: Jonathan Woodgate 07/08 Finish: 11th, Barclays Premier League, England League: Barclays Premier League, England Rivals: Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham History In 1882 Hotspurs FC was founded by a bunch of Grammar School Boys from the bible class known as All Hallows Church. These boys where also members of the Hotspur Cricket Club and is thought that the name Hotspur is associated with Sir Henry Percy (Sir Harry Hotspur) who was Harry Hotspur in Shakespeare’s Henry IV, part 1. In 1884 the club was renamed to Tottenham Hotspur Football and Athletic Club to distinguish themselves from another team called London Hotspur. Over the years Spurs have played in many colours including, navy blue, light blue and white, red and blue, chocolate brown and old gold till they decided on White and Blue and tribute to Preston North End, the most successful team of that time. In 1888 Tottenham moved from Tottenham Marshes to Northumberland Park for there home matches, at Northumberland Park they could cost admission for matches. In 1892 a attempt to join the Southern League was aborted instigated by Royal Arsenal (Arsenal), when they where the only team out of 23 to receive no votes. Tottenham became professional club just before Christmas 1895 and where admitted to the Southern League. Spurs started to attract crowds as large of 15,000 and Charles Roberts became chairman in 1989, he stayed at his post till 1943. In 1899 Spurs made there final ground move to what is now known as White Hart Lane, the Lane was in a former market garden near High Road. Both John Cameron and John Bell, former Everton players came to play for Spurs as a result of the conflict caused by their organization of the Association Footballers' Union, a forerunner of the Professional Footballers' Association. A direct result followed in 1900 as Tottenham won the Southern League. The next year they won the FA Cup, the cup was given to Tottenham captain Jack Jones with coloured ribbons on it, tied there for the first time (By the wife of Spurs director Morton Cadman) this starting the long held tradition of tying ribbons in Cup competitions, which continues to this day. Tottenham won promotion to the Second Divison of the Football League in time for the 1908/09 season. They got promoted straight away but there time in the First Divison was horrible, and when football was suspended at the end of the 1914/1915 season Tottenham Hotspurs where bottom of the league. When Football Resumed in 1919 they decided to expand the First Division to 22 from 20. Chelsea who finished 19 (And would have been relegated with SPurs) and Arsenal (Who only finished 6th in the Second Division) where choosen as the team to be promoted as Spurs went down, Arsenal being promoted heated up the rivalry that Spurs had with Arsenal (It started 6 years earlier when Arsenal moved to Tottenham's hinterland, this rivalry continues to this day known as the one of the most firecest rivalrys in the world. Tottenham struck back the next year when they went on to be Division Champions in 1919/1920 season an dwin the FA Cup for the second time beating Wolves 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in 1921. In 1922 Tottenham finished second behind Liverpool but after that Spurs experienced a steady decline which lead to them being relegated in 1928. Also Spurs went three years running not being able to advance further then the quarters of the FA Cup. Spurs where 7th on 3rd September 1939 when Neville Chamberlain declared war. Following the war Football became more popular then ever as it attracting thousands of people every weekend. In 1949 Arthur Rowe became manger and developed the "Push and Run" tactic, it envoled passing the ball to a near by team-mate running past the marker and receiving the pass from the team-mate you passed it to. This worked as Spur climbed to the top of the second division table and ended up winning it, then a year later they where run away champions winning the First division for the first ever time. Tottenham had many laying heros at the time including Alf Ramsey, Ronnie Burgess, Ted Ditchburn, Len Duquemin, Sonny Walters and Bill Nicholson. The stadium remained largely the same until 1923, when the ground was enlarged to accommodate 50,000 spectators. Despite the clubs mediocrity at the time, a crowd of 75,038 crammed into the lane to see Tottenham loose to Sunderland in the Football Association Cup. Floodlights were introduced at the lane in 1953, allowing matches to be played at night. The stadium was one of the few grounds to not have advertising hoardings around the pitch. The building of the West Stand in the 1980's was a poorley managed project, and it ran the club into severe financial problems. Throughout the 90's the stadium underwent changes, with renovation work to the current stands and the building of the South Stand. The ground has remained the same way since. ![]() It has recently been announced that the club will be building a new 60,000 seat stadium, in the same area of White Hart Lane. The ambitious project is expected to cost upwards of 400 million pounds. The club will not retain the White Hart Lane name, instead proffering to seek corporate sponsorship. ![]()

Yeah I had the image but it didn't work, now fixed. Yeah I once had a Spurs thread but this is a co-op SPurs thread. Oh and the History is still under construction.

There have been a lot of attempted co-op threads and all of them have failed even though the start has been amazing.
At the moment this doesn't look like it will last. Play arond with the font on the op, having the default font is a bit...plain. The honours are to crowded and they look scruffy. A bit of neatness and this thread could succeed. Just work at presentation and stuff like that.
