If they absolutely knuckle down, and put in some rock hard focuss I think they could win the Carling Cup or FA Cup. But no Champions League or Premiership Title this year. Arsenal have too much growing to do

TRANSFER TARGETS
-With the summer transfer window right around the corner, Arsene Wenger has cut down a shortlist which features all the players he is interested in signing to strengthen the silverware hungry Arsenal. In the shortlist seven players have been added. Two goalkeepers, two defenders & three midfielders

Shay Given
-One of the English Premier League’s most experience players. He is believed to be unsettled at Newcastle, where has played over 450 games at. Arsenal may not need a new goalkeeper as Manuel Almunia put on a wonderful performance’s in most games last year, where he was mainly backing up for Jens Lehman. But now Lehman has been sold to Stuttgart and Almunia currently is Arsenal’s number 1. Is Arsene Wenger comfortable with keeping the Spanish International behind the sticks? Or does he feel the need to keep Almunia as a back up for Shay Given if brought?
Ir’s certain that Wenger wouldn’t pay much, possibly around the price tag 3-5 Million Pounds Shay Given is anyway, so will Arsene Wenger place a bid to bring the Republic Of Ireland international Shay Given to Arsenal?
Vicenzo Fiorillo
At the age of 18, Vicenzo Fiorillo is one of the world’s most promising young goalkeepers. Dubbed as the future Gianluigi Buffon by many. Fiorillo has shown that he is a tough nut to crack in goals in the youth squad of Sampdoria. Recently being moved up to the senior squad if Vicenzo doesn’t join another club this summer he will surely look to live up to his nickname that many call him. Goalkeepers usally don’t cost much, and especially at a young age Wenger wouldn’t be worried about the price tag. If Wenger were to make a bid, It would be no more than 1.5 Million Pounds at most.

Timothée Kolodziejczak
-They call him “Kolo” due to his name being so hard to pronounce. But that won’t stop Arsene Wenger place a bid for the 17 year old. Still sticking to his youth roots Arsene Wenger has been looking to get hold of Kolo for the last two years. Not much is known of this young stars from people outside of France. The youngster place for Lyon at the centre back position. If Wenger were to bid for Kolo he wouldn’t need to spend any more than 2 Million Pounds. If he were to successfully grab hold of Kolo it’s almost certain that he would put him for loan so that the young star could get some match experience under his belt before Wenger is confident to place him in the first team & ready for a full season of the English Premier League.

Daniel Agger
-The ravishing Danish superstar, Daniel Agger, at the centre back position & a handful of experience Daniel Agger is one of the hottest defenders going around now. Not only will it be hard to get Agger to agree to join another club the fact the plays with title rivals Liverpool will also make it much harder for Arsenal to capture him. At 23 years old, the future is looking bright for Mr Agger. The question is, would he join Arsenal, and would Liverpool agree to let him?
Agger is wanted by many clubs around the world and no doubt Liverpool will want a lot of money for him, were looking at the price range of 10+ Million Pounds. Is Wenger willing to pay that much for the Danish man?

Hatem Ben Arfa
-Ben Afra recently joined Olympique Marseile to replace new gunner Samir Nasri. And now it is looking as if Ben Arfa will be teaming up with Samir Nasri. The young French star at only the age of 20 he is looking for a huge future. The French man playing on the left hand side of the midfield. Already the football world have been wowed by his blistering speed to the left wing and his amazing eye to catch an open player. Often remarked as being able to play in Arsenal’s football style, and him, himself mention in an interview that as a child he supported Arsenal in his youth. He has also said that he admires Arsene Wenger’s mentality as a manager. Arsene Wenger is believed to have already placed a 6 Million Pound bid for the French midfielder.

Sotiris Ninis
The young Greek player, wanted by many big clubs including Manchester United,
Liverpool, Inter Milan, Juventus, Porto & more, he is one of football hottest young prospects. Born in Albania but raised in Greece, Sotiris joined Greek supergiants Panathinaikos in 2004. But didn’t make the senior squad until 2006. Since then he has turned the world crazy for him, with blistering speed & dribbling skills he is the Greek Lionel Messi. But with Panathinaikos playing in the Champions League this year they’ll do anything to keep him. Arsene Wenger has said many times that he would love Ninis in his squad. Big money would have to be spent on this young star, most certainly more than 8 million pounds at least should be able to have Panathinaikos considering letting Ninis go.
Mohammed Sissoko
With plenty experience in big games & in big leagues. A man looking for a return to the English Premier League, Mohammed Sissoko has been heavily linked with Arsenal & a return to Liverpool. The Mali international has wowed fans for many years and with great speed, strength, shot power & amazing tackling Mohammed Sissoko is a player any team wants. Sissoko can basically play anywhere in the midfield & defence. He could be a bit pricey for Arsene Wenger & his Gunners possibly looking at the price tag of 8-12 Million Pounds.
