ARSENAL ROUND UP TWO NEW SIGNINGS ![]() Ibrahim Afellay has signed a 4 year deal Arsenal were desperate to sign a Midfielder and have captured the signature of Ibrahim Afellay. He signed for the Gunners on a 4 year deal for an estimated price of £4.2 million. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said this of the Dutchman, "I think he is an outstanding player who can always create a chance from nothing, His ball control and dribbling are key attacking skills, and his long passing and short passing shows signs of a defencive player, His sprint speed also shows a great sign of a wide-man, I am glad we have him in our squad". ![]() Upson re-joins the Gunners Arsenal have also re-signed West Ham defender Matthew Upson for a fee of £3.7 million. The deal came through with 45 minutes left on the transfer window and Arsene Wenger will hope Upson can continue his form he has been showing for West Ham and England. Upson said this about re-joining Arsenal, "I think Arsenal are a great club, but I don't think I would have re-signed if it wasn't for the support and help from both the West Ham and England coaches. I am now looking to provide my services for Arsenal and hopefully win some titles".
