TRANSFER TARGETS

Steven Defour, Standard Liege Captain

Steven Defour is a fantastic midfield who has been linked to Arsenal since 2007. Defour is a young star who will surely be a legend wherever he chooses to go. Defour, 20, is the captain of Standard Leige who have placed a £3 million price tag on him. Arsenal could make a bid for the midfielder if nobody beats them to it. The Belgian International has already got 16 caps and scored one international goal. Defour is a fantastic play-maker and is credited for his ability and vision. If Defour signed, him and Fabregas would make a solid partnership in the centre of midfield.

Yaya Toure, FC Barcelona Midfielder

Yaya Toure only signed for Barcelona last season, but would like to move away and play for Arsenal. The Ivory Coast Defencive Midfielder is a fantastic midfielder who could blend in well to the Arsenal Team. Toure said "If I was to sign for Arsenal, it would be a privilage as I love to play with my brother Kolo". Yaya Toure is Kolo Toure's brother and has always dreamed to play with him. Toure has also played 27 timed for The Ivory Coast and has scored 3 goals in the process. Toure wouldn't move for less than £6 million however, so Arsenal would have to seriously dig deep if they wanted the Midfielder.

Zdravko Kuzmanovic, Fiorentina Midfielder

Zdravko Kuzmanovic is a quality midfielder who loves to run at defenders and cause havoc. Kuzmanovic is one of the big and young stars who Arsene Wenger is looking at during the transfer window, but the asking price is maybe a bit too much for Wenger. Wenger said this about the Midfielder, "He is a star for the future, and maybe it will have to be the future as I will not pay the price that Fiorentina want for him". Kuzmanovic has also been linked with AC Milan and Bayern Munich.

Xabi Alonso, Liverpool Midfielder

Xabi Alonso has announed that he would like to move away from Liverpool after he felt that they are just, 'Tossing him aside'. The spanish Midfielder has been linked with several clubs, and Arsenal, who are looking to fill to gap of Matthieu Flamini and Gilberto Silva, could be looking at the possible deal. Javier Macherano is the man who took Alonso's place, and with the rumours of Gareth Barry going to Merseyside, Alonso's future at Liverpool now looks even slimmer. Valencia, Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been linked with the Midfielder

Daniel Van Buyten, Bayern Munich Defender

Daniel Van Buyton could be coming to the Emirates after being placed on the Transfer window by Bayern Munich manager Jurgen Klinsmann. The Belgian defender is fairly cheap and could be a great purchase if Arsenal did place a bid. Van Buyten was placed on the transfer window after Bayern Munich signed Massimo Oddo from AC Milan. Arsene Wenger said this of the Belgian, "I think he is a solid centre-back who could really strengthen our squad". Van Buyton has also played for Marseille and Manchester City.
