DUTCH MAGIC Arsenal 2 - 0 Manchester City Robin Van Persie 21', 75' ![]() Robin Van Persie scored both goals in Arsenal's 2-0 win over Manchester City as they look to climb up into the top spots. Arsene Wenger was also extremley pleased with how new signings Matthew Upson and Ibrahim Afellay played and the team on the whole. Arsenal always looked like winning and almost got a goal within the first 3 minutes as Afellay's cross was met by Emmanuel Adebayor, but his header was tipped wide by Young keeper Joe Hart. Arsenal got their first goal after a superb counter-attack. Almunia's save was the starting point of the move, as he rolled it to Gael Clichy, who played the ball up the line for Samir Nasri, Nasri played a one-two with Adebayor and continued his run before crossing the ball for Van Persie, who tapped the ball into the near post, a superb Arsenal goal. Arsenal haven't been involved in many dirty matches, but this was the worst as Jo, Robin Van Persie and Michael Ball were all booked within 4 minutes of eachother. The second half also started with an Arsenal attack as Samir Nasri went forward with the ball, his cross found Afellay, who chested it down, before volleying just past the post. Elano was then booked for arguaing with Mike Reily over a Manchester City Penalty claim which was turned down, the ball did clearly strike Gael Clichy's hand, but it was never intentional. Robinho came on for Manchester City as they looked to attack with style as Robinho's dazzling skill run was stopped by Matthew Upson's sliding challenge. Stephen Ireland then came on, but didn't cause the same impact, as he let Adebayor take the ball from him, Adebayor continued his run before shooting, but Hart saved, but the ball rolled out of his hands to Robin Van Persie who never misses from that distance. Van Persie then almost got his hat-trick, but his lob narrowly missed from a tight angle. + Match Box Arsenal || Man City 2 | Goals | 0 8 | Shots | 6 5 | On Target | 5 50% | Possession | 50% 13| Tackles | 18 1 | Fouls | 5 1 | Yellow Cards | 4 0 | Red Cards | 0 62% | Shot Accuracy | 83% 77% | Passing Accuracy | 78% + Match Ratings + Arsenal Manuel Almunia 8 Barcay Sagna 4 Matthew Upson 7 William Gallas 6 Gael Clichy 7 Ibrahim Afellay 5 Cesc Fabregas 6 Denilson 7 Samir Nasri 5 Robin Van Persie 9 Emmanuel Adebayor 7 ------------------------- Theo Walcott 6 Nicklas Bendtner 5 Emmanuel Eboue 5 + Manchester City Joe Hart 5 Paolo Zabaleta 6 Richard Dunne 7 Micah Richards 8 Michael Ball 7 Shaun Wright-Phillips 5 Michael Johnson 5 Gelsen Fernandes 6 Martin Petrov 6 Elano 6 Jo 6 -------------------------- Vincent Kompany 6 Stephen Ireland 5 Robinho 4

![]() Chester City 0 - 5 Arsenal Carlos Vela 14', 29' Aaron Ramsey 36', 50' Theo Walcott 44' Kevin Roberts [RED CARD] 81' The Arsenal young guns were absolutely fantastic as they came out clear winners with the scoreline of 5-0. Arsene Wenger even said that if they played like that, then they would be legends. Arsenal got off to a flying start as Carlos Vela's pure pace took him past the Chester defence and they the Mexican cooly slotted under Danby to get the 'Youth Team' off the mark. With Arsenal's pure passing quality, they worked it around the Chester players and created gaps which Jack Wilshire, Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott almost exploited. Vela then got his second as Aaron Ramsey's superb through ball found Vela, who's curling shot hit the inside of the post before going in. Minutes later and we saw the goal of the game, 16 passes followed by a cracking finish. The build up all started when Aaron Ramsey tackled Anthony Barry before passing to Jack Wilshire, The play built up as Vela recieved the ball, the opened up to shoot, before dummying a shot and continuing running, he then thread through Ramsey, who slotted into the bottom corner. Arsenal were playing with such creative style, they might just take the places of the first team. Walcott rounded off the half with a superb finish, A cross from Wilshire was headed away to Fran Merida who took it round Barry before passing to Walcott who drove the ball into the bottom corner. The second half started with another good goal, Fran Merida's challenge was thought to be a free-kick, but the referee didn't blow his whistle and Aaron Ramsey continued with the ball, he drove the ball from 20 yards and it flew into the corner as Danby just stood and watched. Arsene Wenger then signalled to Ramsey to play more defencive as a team. So Arsenal sat back, but that didn't stop them from shooting, or Chester from being dirty as Paul Linwood, Kevin Roberts, Marvin Hughes and Anthony Barry were all booked. Kevin Roberts was then sent off in the 81st minute after his challenge on Jack Wilshire after the 17 year old's superb piece of skill. Arsenal avioded two late goals as Chester looked to salvage some pride, Anthony Barry's shot was blocked by Johan Djourou, and the ball ended up in the back of the net, but the referee said no-goal because the ball had gone through a hole in the net and then into the goal. Ritchie Partridge's shot from 7 yards then rattled the bar in the last minute as Arsenal were struggling, but they came out 5-0 winners. + MATCH BOX Chester || Arsenal 0 | Goals | 5 5 | Shots | 14 3 | On Target | 9 49% | Possession | 51% 11 | Tackles | 10 6 | Fouls | 1 4 | Yellow Cards | 0 1 | Red Cards | 0 +MATCH RATINGS + ARSENAL Luka Fabianski 7 Gavin Hoyte 7 Alexandre Song 6 Johan Djourou 7 Mikael Silvestre 7 Theo Walcott 8 Aaron Ramsey 10 Fran Merida 6 Jack Wilshire 6 Carlos Vela 9 Nicklas Bendtner --------------------- Matthew Upson 6 Henri Lansbury 7 Emmanuel Eboue 7 + CHESTER John Danby 5 Paul Linwood 5 Tony Hinning 6 Kevin Roberts 5 Laurence Wilson 5 Mark Hughes 4 Anthony Barry 5 Ritchie Partridge 5 David Mannix 6 Kevin Ellison 7
