i made it past 2,000 comments (whether or not u bring out the spam card) so i wouldn't say a previous attempt....

Rafa seen leaving Anfield last night

LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB gaffer Rafael Benítez was seen leaving a supposed Liverpool pressroom today after what were thought to be contract negotiations with current Liverpool owner George Gillett at Anfield today after contract talks apparently 'broke down'.

The coach who signed in 2004 from Valencia CF after winning the La Lige twice and the UEFA Cup, has been increasingly unsettled at Anfield in recent times since American duo businessman George Gillett and Tom Hicks bought out the club in 2007.

Neither he or the club wanted to comment for the swarming media that surrounded Rafa as he left, however this morning George Gillett released a statement as follows:

George was present at last weeks pre-season friendly against the Tranmere Rovers which Liverpool won 4-1.

More news will be posted later today as Liverpool train at Melwood park, as the final few days before the English Premier League kicks off and another season of anticipation for Liverpool fans begin. Can they grab number nineteen? It's the question on everybodies mind.
