Well Valencia are my second club, and I keep track of their youngsters. Mata has recently begun to score, so I bought him. Including his hatrick in the FA Cup which I'll be reporting, he's scored 22 goals for me since his january move.

and also yehh it is a real shame, but if it didnt happen at Hillsborough it would have happened somewhere else, and that could have been an even bigger problem.

Terrace seating does have more atmosphere, but i think it's a sign of the times with the new stadiums we see.
New stadiums we wouldn't have seen if it were not for Hillsborough and the Taylor report.

But i agree that Hillsborough was just waiting to happen, anyone else who has been caught in a frozen mob being forced into the same turnstile by old bill will agree with me on that one. Also if you have ever been stuck up against a crush barrier, it feels really life threatening when you cant move away and your getting crushed up against it, taking away a lot of your breath to say the least. Terracing had it's problems yes, but it was not at fault for the disaster, and with modern safety improvements it can be just as safe as seating. Germany is a great example of this.

The taylor report was screaming for change, but not saying that terracing was to blame or was unsafe.

yehh i know well one of the major causes were the hooligan fences, no one could get over the crowd and onto the football field.
This was also at the height of football hooliganism so they had good cause to do so, but the irony was that the thing that kept the players safe ended up killing the spectators.

And i do agree that some of the new stadiums in the world might have been completely different hadn't the Taylor Report been the same.

But forever in the minds of the liverpudlians are those 96 people.

Crowd control fencing was designed to keep fans away from rival fans, not the players...

We'll the primary purpose was obviously to separate rival groups of fans, it didint really do much on some occasions though and i remember seeing some breathtaking action at the bridge and at a few away grounds, the latter being a dodgier experience as i was a lot closer too it mostly.

The worst attacks on players were back before my time when there was a lot of racism on the majority of English football terraces,(not condoning it) and a lot of coins and sometimes even banana's were thrown.

I think today that a simple line of old bill aint really a deterrent, if two mobs are both up for it they will steamroll through them.

Also with no barriers it makes it a lot easier for our boys to get up to mischief, you can look at Man City Vs Chelsea in 2001 for an example of this.

YouTube - Football Hooligans - Man City v Chelsea - 2001

(Im not condoning violence)
