![]() ^Giggs celebrating^ Man United came into this match with a completely different squad from the one that faced Real Madrid. Foster started in goal, Rafael and Fabio were the full-backs and Evans and O’Shea were the centre-backs. Tevez and Welbeck started up front and Park, Anderson, Veloso and Nani started in midfield. Even with a completely changed squad Man United still looked very comfortable throughout the match. They opened the scoring in the 22nd minute when the ball was played out to the wing and Park kept on running with the ball into the box and smashed the ball into the top corner. Man United then let up a bit after that and invited pressure onto them. This was going well until Evans miss-timed his tackle and saw a straight red. They were now under extreme pressure with crosses coming into the box all the time. But in the 84th minute Foster came out and caught a corner and quickly broke away through Nani and Tevez. Tevez then slid the ball into the net after a very quick break away. Giggs then came on for the last 5 minutes. This turned out to be a very good move and in the 90th minute he ran down the wing, cut in from the wing and then curled it into the net around Jones.

Good win and lol I do that sometimes aswell, I'm in the box, like already 3-0 up and have the perfect chance to make it 4, but then just start toying about and passing it all the way back to my keeper. Weird, eh?

![]() ^Nani thought he had forced a draw^ Man United brought back some of their first team players for this match so they can get a match before the crunch game against Chelsea in the Champion League. The Da Silva brothers kept their places as did Foster and Tevez. Man United got off to a bad start that set the tone for the rest of the match. A long ball over the top of the defence to Valencia looked to be going out of play but somehow he managed to volley it over Foster to the back post for Kapo to head into an empty net. After the goal Wigan defended in numbers but United still caused them loads of Problems. Rooney nearly equalised a couple of minutes later but his header didn’t hit the back of the net. It hit the crossbar. United kept on pressurising Wigan but couldn’t get that goal. For the last 10 minutes Fergie brought on Nani and Scholes for Giggs and Anderson. It turned out to be a brilliant move because in the 87th minute Ronaldo cut in played a ball into Nani and he got in front of his marker and as calm as you like just flicked it into the net. He thought that he had forced a draw but in the 90th minute the referee gave a penalty to Wigan which was the fairest tackle I had ever seen. Valencia then sent Foster the wrong way. Man United got a corner in the 90th minute, Foster came up for the corner but the corner went over everyone and Wigan stormed up the pitch. Vidic had no choice but to bring Kapo down and he was already on a Yellow and was sent off. From the free Rooney intercepted and chipped the ball over the defence to Tevez he was one-on-one with Kirkland but he managed to save it and Wigan managed to win.

![]() ^Ronaldo takes on the Chelsea Defence^ Man United brought back the whole first team for this match against Chelsea. The only exception is Ferguson chose youth over experience and chose Nani ahead of Giggs because of his goal against Wigan last week. Man United came into this game expecting a tight game but they didn’t get that. Chelsea did come close in the first few minutes when Essien tried a chip from 30 yards but it landed on top of the net. Scholes came close for Man United he dribbled his way into the box but his shot was deflected onto the bar by Cech. Man United did take the lead in the 28th minute when Ronaldo played a through ball down the wing to Berbatov he took a shot across the keeper and it found its way into the bottom corner. Berbatov nearly had another a few minutes later when he took a first time shot which hit the top of the bar. Man United went into the break 1-0 up. Cech was the only reason that it wasn’t 3 or 4. Man United extended their lead in the 66th minute when Nani was chopped down in the box by Essien it was clearly a penalty. Ronaldo stepped up and sent Cech the wrong way. Berbatov got his second of the match in the 88th minute when Berbatov got the better of Terry in a race and then placed the ball into the top corner out of the reach of a rushing Cech. Man United were extremely comfortable they had 17 shots 12 of which were on target. While Chelsea had 1 shot and none of them were on target. Can Man United bring this form into the match against Liverpool?....
