Mine's 10 too, Giggs and Scholes barely finish the half for me, but some odd times they can both finish a match but they'll be rested for the next one or on the bench.

Default Man Utd 3-1 Inter Milan

^A sad site for United fans as Carlos Tevez is carried off^

Pre-Match: Man United knew if they won this match that they would qualify for the next round of the Champions League. Nani and Johnny Evans both came into this match at the expense of Ryan Giggs and Gerard Pique. Man United narrowly managed to win when the two teams played each other at the San Siro last month. It took two late goals from Ronaldo and Tevez to give United the win.

Man United were very quick out of the match with a couple of early chances for the United players. They took the lead in the 13th minute. Rooney sprinted into the box but was tripped while going past a defender and Man United were awarded a penalty. Their lead didn’t last long though. Ibrahimovic crossed the ball into the middle of the box and Quaresma nodded the ball into the top corner out of the reach of Van Der Sar.

For the next half hour, the match was quite even both teams had their fair share of chances. Most of Inter chances were long range chances and didn’t really trouble Van Der Sar. United had much better build up play and had the better chances. United took the lead again in the 37th minute. The ball was played over the top to Rooney and he played the ball back into the path of Tevez and he smashed the ball into top corner from the edge of the box.

Disaster struck for United on the stroke of half-time when United’s top scorer had to be taken off after going down from a big tackle. Dimitar Berbatov came on for Carlos Tevez in the 45th minute, the Bulgarian was itching to get a chance after spending most of this season on the bench because of Tevez’s scoring form. United were probably still very happy going into half-time even with the injury to Tevez because they were ahead and looking pretty comfortable.

The second half was not as eventful as the first but the match was very comfortable for United with most of Inter chances still coming from long range and Van Der Sar was able to catch most of the shots. Ronaldo was taken off in the 70th minute and he made way for Ji-SungPark. This change seemed to wake United up and 3 minutes later Man United were 3-1 up. The ball bounced off Maxwell and Berbatov was onto the ball in a flash and he slotted the ball into the bottom corner and secured all three points for United.

Default Man Utd 2-0 West Ham

^United left it late but Rooney came up with the goods in the end^

Pre-Match: Man United made a number of changes coming into this match with a few players tired after playing a lot of the games this season. Pique, Park, Berbatov and Rafael all came into the side with Evans, Ronaldo, Tevez and Neville going out of it. Man United narrowly won the last time these teams met in August. Man United won through with goals from Ronaldo and Rooney with Cole scoring for the Hammers.

The first half was dominated by United with them having chance after chance but they just couldn’t find the net. Rooney and Nani both came close but Rob Green was equal to the shots on goal. Rooney had loads of chances but was quite wasteful. Both teams went into half-time level and West Ham were definitely the happier of the two going in at 0-0 having only 1 shot in the whole half.

The second half started off pretty much the same as the first with Man United completely dominating West Ham but United were having more shots on target this half. It seemed that Rooney had put his shooting boots on at half-time. Man United were pushing and pushing but still they were level. The tension was nearly unbearable in Old Trafford but that tension changed to delight in the 86th minute. Rooney who was just about to come off because he was having a bad day at the office came up with the goods. He ran down the wing and cut in, he curled the ball into the bottom corner and sent the United faithful crazy.

Rooney and Scholes both came off in the 87th minute for Villa and Anderson. This turned out to be a good move. With West Ham going all out for a draw were caught out on the break. David Villa played the ball over the top to Berbatov and he ran down the wing before cutting the ball back to Villa and he slotted it into an empty net. United play Man City next in the 4th round of the Carling Cup and then go to East lands for another game against City in the cup.

You brought Pique back? That's awesome! I think we should've never let him go in the first place.

He was a great defender. In my opinion, behind Vidic and Ferdinand, he and Evans could've matured to be of the same status and power of those two.

Edit: Then again, let's hope that we put a clause in his contract like we did with Rossi to have the option of buying him back, no questions asked.

Man United 2-0 Man City

It took Man United just 11 minutes for them to open the scoring against Man City and it came in the form of David Villa. Berbatov cut inside on to his left foot and took a shot, it was saved though but was only pushed out as far as Villa and he slid the ball into the bottom corner for a very easy goal.

6 minutes later United were 2-0 up, and it was David Villa who was the goal scorer again. The ball was crossed in from Park to the back post and Villa headed the ball into the top corner. It was alot harder than his first but he still put it away. Berbatov came close in the 26th minute. He was put through on goal by Veloso but his shot came back into play off the underside of the bar.

Man United dominated for most of the match and held on for a good win as they progress to the 5th round of the Carling Cup. United play City again on the weekend but this time it'll be at Eastlands.

MOTM:

D. Villa - 9

Default Man City 0-4 Man Utd

^Rooney celebrates after scoring the opener for United^

Pre-Match: Man United were very confident coming into this match after a 2-0 win against City in the Carling Cup in mid-week. It was two early goals from David Villa that sealed the win in that match but he wasn’t even on the subs bench today. The only player to retain his place from that match was Vidic. Rooney, Neville, Ferdinand, Ronaldo are only a few of the big names that returned for this match.

Man United got a dream start in this match after very poor play from ManCity. Jo had the ball in the United half but decided to pass the ball back to Dunne but the pass was too short and Tevez flicked the ball past him before he could get it. He then dribbled all the way from the half way line past Micah Richards and got one-on-one with Joe Hart. He came rushing out but Tevez curled the ball around him into the corner and put United 1-0 up after 5 minutes.

8 minutes later United were 2-0 up, again getting a big slice of luck. Man City had the ball on the edge of their box and tried the play the ball out but the pass was incepted by the Referee! It was then played out to the wing by Tevez to Ronaldo and he crossed the ball right onto the head of Wayne Rooney and he headed the ball into the net.

In the 37th minute, United were 3-0 up. Ronaldo got the ball off Zabaleta on the wing and ran all the way into the box. His shot was well saved by Hart but the ball went out to Rooney and he volleyed the ball into the net. At first it looked like Joe Hart should have done better but after watching the replays it showed that if he had got a touch he would have still put it into the net.

Just before half-time United went 4-0 up. Rooney had the ball in the middle of City’s half and played the ball into Carlos Tevez in the 6 yard box and he slotted the ball into the corner for his second goal of the match. It was poor defending by City because they should have cut the ball out well before it reached Tevez. Man United went into half-time 4-0 up and were playing City off the pitch. To prove this pointCity only had 4 shots in the first half compared to United’s 12.

Man United took their foot off the gas in the second half and started embarrassing Man City. Giggs started the show boating flicking the ball over two of City’s defenders and taking shots with the outside of his boot. Man United best chance came in the 90th minute when City got a corner. Most of their players pushed up to try and get a consolation goal but the ball was cleared. Tevez dribbled the ball all the way into City’s box but Joe Hart pounced on the ball when he tried to lay it across to Rooney. Ronaldo also came close with a free kick but it landed on the top of the net instead of in the net.
