Default Man Utd 4-1 Werder Bremen

^Tevez set Old Trafford alight against Bremen^

Team Changes: Man United named a strong side for the match against Werder Bremen but it was missing some big names for the team sheet. The young Brazilian, Rafael started at RB ahead of Gary Neville who could only make the bench. Lloris got his second start for United replacing Van Der Sar in goal. Pique also came into the starting line-up at the expense of Rio Ferdinand. Tevez retained his place after scoring the late winner against Inter Milan last week and Berbatov replaced Rooney after he scored late on against Inter too. Also, Park came into the team for Ryan Giggs on the left wing.

The first half was a pretty even one with Werder Bremen having more of the possession but United having more of the chances. Man United did take the lead in the 23rd minute thought when Berbatov came in from the wing with the ball at his feet before laying it back to Tevez and he smashed the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Werder Bremen managed to equalise just before half-time. The ball was crossed in and Ozil climbed above everyone but his header hit the bar. The ball came out to Rafael but he headed it right to Ozil and he headed it into an empty net. Just when I looked like both teams would go into the dressing rooms at 1 goal a piece, Man United got a corner. The ball was whipped into the box by Michael Carrick and Dimitar Berbatov jumped up and headed the ball into the corner giving the keeper no chance. Man United went into half-time very happy to have grabbed that late goal to give them the lead but knew they would have to keep it up if they wanted to retain top spot in their group.

Tevez sealed the win for United in the 69th minute. The ball was played into him in the box and he took it round a defender before driving it low under the keeper to put United 3-1 up with only 20 minutes to go. Tevez kept on trying for his hat-trick and he got it in the 78th minute. It was from a corner again showing that Werder Bremen needs to get a good centre back who can head the ball. The keeper came out to try and catch the ball but got stranded in a crowd of players giving Tevez an easy chance which he happily put the ball into an empty net.

Man United brought off Cristiano Ronaldo and Miguel Veloso for Nani and Owen Hargreaves to give them a run out for the last 10 minutes. Berbatov nearly got another for United late on but his header came down off the bar and onto the post and the keeper managed to grab it and the game finished 4-1 to United. They play Chelsea next. Can United keep up their 100% record or will they finally be stopped?

Well I struggled with one of them. Couldn't tell if it was an 8, or a plum But for the most part I think I'm okay But you really can't see those numbers? That's interesting

Default Chelsea 1-6 Man Utd

^Paul Scholes scored a brilliant goal in the 6-1 win^

Team Changes: Man United came into this match knowing that this match could be a real threat to their unbeaten streak. Tevez retained his place after a brilliant hat-trick against Werder Bremen. Berbatov again had to make do with a place on the bench as Rooney returned to the starting line-up. Lloris and Pique were both left out of the squad and were replaced by Van Der Sar and Ferdinand. Park was replaced by Giggs on the left wing and Scholes came back into the side after being rested for the match against Werder Bremen.

The first half was dominated by Man United and they had a total of 7 shots and 6 of those were on-target. Cech had to pull off a number of fantastic saves but even though United’s domination it looked like both teams would go into half-time all level. In the 42nd minute Man United went ahead. Tevez played a brilliant through ball to Rooney and all he had to do was just lift the ball over Cech and Man United went into half-time 1-0 up.

It didn’t take long for United to extend their lead in the second half, 3 minutes to be exact. Giggs crossed the ball into the box and Ronaldo rose above every one and headed it into the top corner out of the reach of Cech. The win was secured around 10 minutes later. Ronaldo came in off the wing and played the ball into the path of Tevez and he slotted the ball into the far corner giving the keeper no chance.

Scholes capped off a wonderful performance by him in the 63rd minute when he scored a brilliant goal. The ball was crossed into the box but the ball was cleared only to Scholes and he took one touch before driving the ball into the bottom corner of the net. Rooney got his second of the match in the 80th minute. The ball was played into the path of Rooney he smashed the ball past Cech and Man United were 5-0 up.

Ji-Sung Park and Anderson were brought on for the last 10 minutes of the match and Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes. Chelsea got a late consolation goal in the 90th minute. Ferdinand’s back pass was a bit short and Drogba smashed the ball past Van Der Sar. Rooney cancelled that goal straight away though. Tevez dribbled past the Chelsea defence before cutting it back for Rooney to tap into the net. Man United play Blackburn in the cup next and are expected to field a weakened team.

Default Man Utd 7-0 Blackburn

^Ronaldo scored 2 penalties today as United won 7-0^

Team Changes: Man United came into this match on a high after knocking Blackburn out of the Carling Cup in midweek. Van Der Sar returned in goal as Man United brought back a lot of their first team players. A number of players retained their places in the team after good performances in the last match. Evans started at centre back again but Pique wasn’t as lucky and he was left out of the squad. Rafael and Anderson also retained their places in the team at the expense of Neville and Scholes. Tevez started upfront with Rooney again after a good scoring run. Evra, Ferdinand, Carrick, Giggs, Ronaldo and Rooney all returned to the team.

It didn’t take United long for them to be in the lead. Ronaldo was brought down in the box and the referee pointed straight to the spot. Ronaldo stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way and put United 1-0 up with only 16 minutes gone. 10 minutes later and United were two up. Ronaldo had the ball in the box and took a shot and it was saved by the keeper but it fell to Rooney and he took one touch before smashing the ball into the back of the net.

On the stroke of half-time Man United went 3-0 up. Ronaldo was brought down in the box for the second time in the match and the result was the same. The keeper managed to guess right this time but still got no where near the ball. Man United went into half-time 3-0 up and they were cruising. Man United looked on top form and it was only the first half.

Michael Carrick nearly extended the lead in the 48th minute when he took the ball on the chest and volleyed it but his shot came back into play off the post. Ronaldo got his third of the match in the 73rd minute. He had the ball on the edge of the box and took a shot with the outside of his boot that went in off the post. Ji-SungPark was then brought on for the last 15 minutes and Ryan Giggs was brought off for him.

Tevez got his goal in the 79th minute. The ball was chipped into the box and Tevez ran onto it before volleying it into the bottom corner. Tevez got his second of the match in the 87th minute. Blackburn got a corner and pushed a lot of their players up to try and get a consolation goal. The ball was cleared though, and it went straight to Ronaldo he played the ball right into the path of Tevez and he slotted the ball into the corner of the net. Man United play Newcastle at home next.
