Moyes said "I have a great amount of respect for the club and the fans, and I hope whoever is appointed manager will do well, I didn't think it was my time, but the decision isn't up to me". Steve Rounds, the assistant manager, was also sacked along with Moyes. Rounds joined the club at the beginning of last season after Alan Irvine left his role. Rounds is also looking for a job. Everton do not have a replacement for Moyes lined up yet, but Ex-Everton Centre-back Alan Stubbs, who is currently a coach at Everton, has taken over as Caretaker boss.
