2 in, 7 out....don't worry, there only on loan

At the Press Conference Today, David Moyes revealed that Everton have purchased France striker Jimmy Briand and Argentinan defender Gabriel Ivan Heinze who used to play for Manchester United and Real Madrid. Briand has signed on a 5 year deal and the price is around 2.5 million. Heinze signed on a 3 year deal for a price estimated at 3.75 million. Moyes said this about the pair, "Briand is a quality striker who has shown that for Rennes. He has made it into the French squad and has made a few caps, We believe in him. Heinze is a superb left-back who is looking to play in the Premier League again. He was linked with Liverpool, but he has joined us, that shows that he is commited". Everton have also loaned out 7 people including John Kissock, Dan Gosling and James Vaughn. They will return at the end of the season. Moyes has also said that 2 more should be coming in before the window closes

Jimmy Briand and Henrique beat Sunderland

Everton beat Sunderland 2 - 1 on a wet and miserbable day but stay 5 points behind leaders Liverpool. Jimmy Briand and Henrique got the goals to secure the victory, but they threw away a clean sheet when Amelia and Lescott let Cisse go on and score. Nyron Nosworthy was also sent off for a challenge on Briand with 3 minutes to go. Anton Ferdinand, Marouane Fellaini and Pascal Chimbonda were also booked. The only action in the first half was when Tim Cahill plasted a shot against the bar and Osman's overkick from that was saved by Craig Gordon who did well to stop Jimmy Briand from scoring a hat-trick. Briand's debut goal came in the 62nd minute when Tim Cahill's cross was headed away by Anton Ferdinand, but Phil Neville chipped the ball back and over the defence where Jimmy Briand slipped, but connected well and sent the ball into the roof of the net. Marcos Senna, who signed for Sunderland in the Summer, came on for Anton Ferdinand and almost scored as he tackled Joleon Lescott and blasted it past Marco Amelia, however Henrique slid in behind Amelia as he was aware of the mistake and slid the ball away from the goal. Absoultely amazing stuff from the Brazilian, and 2 minutes later wasn't bad for him either as he headed in Everton's second. The free-kick from the Chimbonda foul was crossed in by Arteta, Gordon came and dived over the mob of players, but Henrique got his head to the ball and made it 2 - 0. Nyron Nosworthy was then sent off for a challenge on Briand and Sunderland looked to have given up. However Cissé pulled a goal back as Amelia's short goal kick found Lescott, who was tackled, Cissé then just passed it through the Italian Goalkeeper. Everton now have Liverpool in the FA Cup. Sunderland have Swindon in the 3rd round aswell.

Goals: Jimmy Briand 62', Henrique 69'; Djibril Cissé 90'
Red Cards: Nyron Nosworthy 87'
Man of the Match: Henrique

John's a Blue!

Everton's latest signing has arrived and it is John O'Shea from Manchester United. O'Shea has been left on the bench at United for too long and has joined Louis Saha, Tim Howard, Gabriel Heinze and Phil Neville as ex-United players. He won't start the game against Liverpool but is on the bench for the match. O'Shea said "I would love to play football for Everton as I have been searching for games for many years and I may get a few here". David Moyes also said this on the midfielder, "I bought him for several reasons, but the main one was that he is extremely versitile, he can play in Midfield, anywhere in defence and apparently in goal, He is a great signing and I hope he does well". As a part of O'Shea's contract however, he must be loaned out at the beginning of next season for a month. The deal was estimated at around Ł2.6 million

FA CUP ROUND 3 LIVE!
EVERTON v LIVERPOOL

Hello, Andy Gray here, with Martin Tyler and we have a very local and very big derby in this 3rd round FA Cup fixture, so without any more interuptions, lets get started to the football, so What do you think Martin, a tight match like the 5 - 5 draw last year or a different outcome. I think it will be a tough game, lets get the the match now.

EVERTON 0 - 5 LIVERPOOL
Robbie Keane 24', 35'
Steven Gerrard 75', 80'
Fernando Torres 89'

Man of the Match: Andrea Dossena

1' Everton are about to get this match underway

5' Liverpool start the game well as they pressurise the defence and earn themselves 2 corners

9' Everton break from the corner and Cahill runs with the ball into the Liverpool penalty area, pulls it back to Briand, who runs just past the ball, but it goes to Arteta, who blasts the ball at Agger

16' Everton have a good moment of passing play, but Briand ruins it by giving it away

19' Tim Cahill crosses for Fellaini, who heads it to Leon Osman, who volleys, would have been a superb goal if Briand had got out of the way

24' Shocking defending by Everton allow Liverpool to take the lead, Lescott should have tackled Torres, but Torres found space and crossed for Robbie Keane, who managed to head past Howard and Henrique

29' How Everton didn't score a goal here, I'll never know! Arteta's corner is just out of the reach of Heinze, but it falls to Jagielka, who's shot is blocked, it then falls to Henrique who hits the bar.

35' Tim Howard, what are you doing!?!, Liverpool find Robbie Keane, who breaks through a couple of challenges, Tim Howard races out of his box and then misses the tackle, Keane goes round him and passes it into the net from 25 yards!

41' Tim Howard is having a nightmare, he collects the ball and runs up to take a quick kick, but he hits Fellaini, stood 5 yards infront of him and the ball goes to a Liverpool player

HALF TIME

50' Mikel Arteta has just summed up Everton's day....He collects the ball superbly on the chest, dazzles and few defenders, gets 12 yards out with the goal open infront of him with only Reina in his way, and he blasts it over the bar!

55' With Everton trying to get back into the game, Jimmy Briand has lost the ball several times in good positions, Yakubu is warming up!

63' Yakubu and John O'Shea coming on, for Jimmy Briand and Phil Neville

67' Fernando Torres fires a 30 yarder goalwards...Its In!....No Its not...It's a superb save by Tim Howard

75' GAME...SET...MATCH....Steven Gerrard tries and amazing volley from 25 yards, its deflected off a Everton players shin and whizzed passed Tim Howard. Liverpool go on to round 4!

80' Oh My God, Liverpool have a fourth, David Moyes has walked down the tunnel to the dressing room without even watching whats going to happen next, Gerrard takes it on the chest from a Xabi Alonso cross and blasts it past Howard

89' Fernando Torres chips it over Tim Howard for a fifth goal!

FINAL WHISTLE

Andy, what happened there, Everton just gave up...Yes they did, they can't play like this against United can they? Man of the Match given to Dossena...think that was right?, Yeah...He had to be, he stopped Arteta from playing and that is why Liverpool won, the Everton key players were overclassed!

5-0 against Pool. Oof. You could get fired just for that result, especially at home.

I don't doubt you'll get back to winning ways next match. Who's up next?

My thread misses you btw.

"I'M SUPRISED WERE NOT BOTTOM"

At the Press Conference today, David Moyes revealed that if his side played like they did against Liverpool everyweek, then Everton would be relegated by Christmas. Moyes described his team as useless, pathetic and appauling as they lost 5 - 0 to rivals Liverpool. Moyes said "We can't play like that if we are going to challenge for the title, we're out the FA Cup, 5 points behind Liverpool in the league and in the Semi-Final against the best team in the World" after United's 1 - 0 win in the World Super Cup Final, they will look to hammer Everton and send their morale to rock-bottom. Moyes has also said that nobody's place is guarrenteed and that a rotation system will take place after the first leg of the Carling Cup. Moyes also said that Man United will be facing most of the Everton ex-Manchester United players. Everton have the Away leg, then the home leg against Manchester United as their next two games
