Club history When Two rival clubs Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End fell into bad financial times, they were forced to merge together to stay alive in 1892. When they merged they took st James Park as their home stadium which had belonged to west end and they took on a new name which was Newcastle. The club went on to win the northern league 3 times. They also went on to win the fa cup in 1910. During this period in their history they lost to Sunderland 9-1.
In 1924 Newcastle went to the fa cup final again and won against Aston villa. This was their second fa cup ever. In 1927 Newcastle won the league cup again but for the last time. Their captain who helped Newcastle win this trophy was Hughie Gallacher. He has a 0.8 to 1 goal per game average the highest in Newcastle history. Newcastle went through a trophy drought until the 1950 were they won the fa cup 3 times in a 5 year period. After that they gained a high profile with England. In 1968 Newcastle qualified for a European cup for the first time but it wasn’t until the next year when Newcastle won their first European cup. Harvey, the manager who led them to this success also brought the super mac into Newcastle. by the start of the 1980 Newcastle declined and were stuck in the 2nd devision. a string of managers were hired by none of them could end Newcastle's suffering. Untill a manager named arthuer cox came. He helped newcastle out of 2nd devision with the help of england captain kevin keegan. newcastle stayed in top flight untill 1989. Later kevin keegan came back to newcastle not as a player but as a manager. Newcastle were strugling in the wrong side of the 2nd division and 3rd division seemed to be their new home. Yet newcastle won their last 2 games which seemed imposbile to all their fans. newcastle would stay in the 2nd divison for another season. The next season of 1992-1993 newcastle won the 2nd divison and gain promotion into the primer league. Under keegan newcastle kept on sucdeing as they had a 3rd place finish in the preimer league in the 1993-1994 season securing european football. In the 1996 season newcastle seemed like they were going to win the title until they lost to liverpool 4-3. this game was said to be the best football match if all time. After short and unsuccessful spells as manager from Kenny Dalglish and Ruud Gullit, former England manager Sir Bobby Robson was appointed as manager. His first home game in charge was particularly impressive; it was an 8–0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, which remains the club's record home win.[8] Good performances such as these helped the club ensure survival in the Premier League in Robson's first season. A title challenge had begun during the 2001–02 season, and Newcastle achieved qualification for the Champions League after finishing in 4th place. Graeme Souness was his replacement, but he proved to be an unpopular choice being fired on 2 February 2006, despite signing Michael Owen for a record £16 million.; Alan Shearer overtook Jackie Milburn as the club's highest ever goal-scorer. Shearer retired at the end of the 2005–06 season, with a total of 206 goals for the club. Despite finishing the 2005–06 season well, Roeder's fortunes quickly changed in the 2006–07 season, and he left the club by mutual consent on 6 May 2007. Newcastle had a promising start to the season but Allardyce left the club on 9 January 2008 by mutual consent after less than eight months in charge. It was confirmed on 16 January, that Kevin Keegan would return to Newcastle as manager, the supporters were really happy about this and they sensed that Newcastle would be great again. Keegan resigned after 232 days in charge, stating he was unable to continue as manager if he was not in control of who was bought by the club.. On the next day in a long official statement. Ashley announced he would be putting the club up for sale, while outlining the state of the club when he found it, the financial limitations his regime was under and the changes he had made to provide a stable future for the club. While making clear that his statement was not intended to be seen as an attack on Keegan and that he was "still a fan" of Newcastle and "did not buy Newcastle to make money", in light of safety concerns over attending future matches. With kevin keegan no longer manager. Newcastle supporters are looking forward to see who the new manager is.

Manager news Mike Ashley the owner of Newcastle has told the board about a list of managers that he would like to manage Newcastle. This list has been leaked and now it is up everywhere on the Internet. ![]() Souness He used to manage Newcastle before Keegan. Ashley says he is a good choice as he was a good Newcastle manager before . Maybe he can lead Newcastle to success. Even if the fans disliked souness. Ashley may pick him as Ashley has never been the fan favorite. ![]() Avram Grant He managed Chelsea to be runner ups. His winning % was high and he seems like a good choice for Newcastle. He was said to be racist to anelka and didn’t play him because anelka was a Muslim. ![]() Frank Rijkaard Frank used to be the manager of barcelona and he did a good job for them as he won many cups and his win % was 61%. Frank is a former player and he konws the game of football very well. ![]() Joe kinnear He used to work under kevin keegan. He is the most likely manager to be chosen. ![]() Alan shearer He is a former player and a legened. He is the least likely as he has never been a manager for any team. He does konw the game and if he is picked he may provide a very good atacking feel to newcastle.
