Teams To Watch...

Dijon FCO

Dijon really struggled last season in Ligue 2, just escaping relegation, finishing 17th. This season however, things look good for them. Manager Faruk Hadzibegic has come in, selling off a few players, but they have had a great pre-season so far, shocking the world by beating Manchester United 2-0, following that up with a 3-1 victory over Sunderland. Two Premier League teams aside, who says they can't conquer Ligue 2?

Final Position Prediction: 4th.

RC Lens

Lens are the out-and-out favourite for the Ligue 2 title this season. They are ranked highest by FIFA, with 3 stars, and were unfortunate to get relegated last season, ending up 18th in Ligue 1, 2 points behind Toulouse. With top players such as Runje, Dindane and Kovacevic, they have the best squad in the league. Also, in 1998, they won Ligue 1, proving their might.

Final Position Prediction: 1st.

FC Metz

Metz have already acquired 3 players this season; Bernard Mendy, Bojan Jokic and Carl Hoefkens. Last season they were relegated from Ligue 1, giving them high authority in this division. Manager Pouliquen firmly believes that his club will be crowned champions of Ligue 2 this season, although we don't think so. Their pre-season is yet to be announced, but it is likely to be a tough one.

Final Position Prediction: 2nd.

RC Strasbourg

The final team to be relegated from Ligue 1 is RC Strasbourg. Finshing 19th last season, Strasbourg will look to be promoted immediately. Their pre-season, however, has been up and down. They beat Derby 3-0; then lost to Coventry 4-0. Then they beat Brazilian side Gremio 2-0; followed by a 6-0 embarassment against Belgian side Mouscron.

Final Position Prediction: 3rd.
