MURCIA MAKE TWO DEADLINE DAY SIGNINGS

Real Murcia made 2 deadline day signings yesterday, with the captures of Miguel Torres and Gabriel Obertan.

Torres, who cost 2,500,000 Euros, is a Right-Back, who played for Real Madrid before moving to Murcia. He later on went to say,
" I was glad to sign my contract for Murcia, but I was even happier because the manager guaranteed me first team football so that is great."

The other signing Obertan, is a Right-Winger who cost 2,700,000 Euros from Bordeaux. Obertan, who is a France under 19's international, played for Bordeaux 45 times, scoring 3 goals.

MURCIA HELD BY LEVANTE IN A BORE DRAW.

Javier Clemente was dissapointed after seeing his Murcia side held to a bore 0-0 draw by Levante.

The first chance of the game came on 22 minutes. Angel, the Levante defender made a poor clearance and it came straight to Alvaro Meija, but his 30 yard effort flew straight over the bar. But 20 minutes later, Levante had another defender to thank. Ivan Alonso had his back to goal with the ball on the edge of the box and if he turned, he would of been through. But Tena was their to turn it away for a throw-in.

And if it weren't for the offside flag, Alonso would of made it 1-0. Meija had the ball and knocked it through to Alonso and went on to score, but little did he know he was offside.

In the second half, Murcia slowed the tempo down and it did good, but they still couldn't put the ball in the back of the net. Antonio Nunez made a good run and he crossed it into the middle, but Alonso couldn't direct the header in, and Bruno hit a 30 yard thunderbolt against the bar 8 minutes later.

And a few minutes later, Gabriel Obertan, on as a subsitute for Antonio Nunez played a deep ball into the box, but Maranon, who arrived late at the back post couldn't turn it in.

And Levante almost stole it in added time. Alvaro Vega made a cross and Xisco, all on his own in the box headed it as elia came to punch it away, but his header hit the post

Clemente said after the game,

" I think the lads did well. It wasn't an improvement on last weeks performance, but today we were playing harder opposition, but he had more chances than them, but we didn't take them."

Full Time
Real Murcia 0-0 Levante

MURCIA COME OUT ON TOP WITH VICTORY OVER TENERIFE
http://www.reporterodigital.com/murcia/imgs/alonsouno.JPG

Real Murcia came out on top with a stunning performance, beating Tenerife 2-1, with Ivan Alonso the key man.

Alonso could of opened the scoring as early as the 2nd minute. Antonio Nunez beat 2 defenders down the wing and crossed it in from the byline, and Alonso athletically jumped up and hit an overhead kick from 12 yards, but the shot rattled off the bar.

Alonso did open the scoring on the 15th minute. Nunez was the assister as he coasted past the ful-back and crossed it in and Alonso just tapped the ball into the back of the net.

Bela Balogh came close with a low 30 yard effort, just minutes later. But Tenerife were back on the attack, and Cristo was through, but Elia stretched himself out to save it.

On the stroke of half-time, Murcia wonderkid Dani Aquino chipped in a deep cross, but Nunez' shot hit the side netting. But just after the break, the tables turned swiftly. From kick-off, Mario chipped the ball over the defenders, and Nino raced onto it and placed the ball into the net. The lead almost lasted for 5 minutes, as Nunez, who was having a cracking game, hit a killer ball into the box, but Alonso, who has been in this position many times before, headed it just wide.

And the goal finally came on 60 minutes. Aquino threw the ball far into the box and Alonso lalalarolled the ball with his knee, turned on the ball and volleyed the ball into the back of the net.

And Alonso had the last chance of the game, curling a free-kick just over the bar.
