![]() ESPN Soccernet reports today they now own the rights to coverage of the Chelsea premier league games for some time. Although Chelsea TV will still have reports ESPN Soccernet are to cover the Barclays Premier League. Today is September 13 where Hull City travel to Stamford Bridge today to face off against Chelsea. ![]() vs ![]() Team News: Chelsea: They will take to the field with the same lineup as they did midweek against Leyton Orient bagging 3 goals with the amazing blunder by the keeper to allow Benzema to score from nearly halfway ( YouTube - Benzema Goal vs Leyton Orient ). They hope to pick up 3 points as next week they look to have a fairly easy ride against Wigan then they play the currently undefeated Liverpool. -Cech- --Bridge--Terry--Alex--Bosingwa-- -Essien- --Lampard---Benzema-- --Malouda-----Anelka-----J.Cole-- Subs: -Carvolho (CB) -Adu (F) -Drogba (ST) -Mikel (CM) -Ballack (CAM) -Cudicini (GK) -Kalou (F) Hull City: Hull City one of the three new boys to the premiership look to stay on track against a class Chelsea side with Hull currently in 6th place. After Geovanni's talk all week about scoring against Chelsea can he show he really can do it and not just spit it? -Myhill- -Dawson--Mendy--Turner--Zayatte- -Geovanni--Boateng--Ashbee--Fagan- Cousin--King Match Report First Half: Chelsea start off just like against the Orient in midweek attacking early but nothing comes of an early chance for Anelka to finish. Hull went on counter attack mode suddenly and Wayne Bridge took down Geovanni receiving a yellow card along with it. The free kick came right into Cech's hands not even testing him. Cech wipped the ball out to Bosingwa as Chelsea now looked to break out of their half up the wing. Bosingwa got the ball to Essien who took a short dribble and sent Joe Cole a through ball right on the corner of the eighteen. Joe Cole wacked the ball into the back of the net putting Chelsea up 1-0 riding high on confidence. Chelsea kept attacking mostly getting shut down by Boateng with the help of the central backs Anelka trying to do many turns kept turning into the defender and ending up losing the ball. As Chelsea built another attack this time revolving around Lampard he got the ball up to Anelka who looked as if he was sure to score ended up missing by inches wide of the post. How dissapointed Scolari looked on the sideline! As the half wound down action was in the middle of the pitch and the referee Mike Dean blew for halftime. Halftime Score Chelsea 1 Hull City 0 Second Half: As players came back out of the dressing room Lampard and Boateng started exchanging as few words. It seemed as if a fight might break out as several subs from the Hull bench came over but Mike Dean and a sideline official were on top of things and quickly broke every up separating the players and giving them a stern warning. An Essien pass to Lampard was looking to start another attack this time Boateng came flying in with an awful tackle to escape and not even have a foul called as Lampard grabbed his ankle in serious pain. Medical staff came on as play was stopped, Lampard was taken off for a minute then allowed to continue as nothing was broken or sprained. Play continued well for Chelsea and Lampard seemed to want to score with such a desire it was awestrucking to see it in his eyes. He willed his team on as they defended brilliantly and Alex got into the attack sending Lampard a deep lobbed through ball. Lampard beat Turner to it. Lampard fired home into the back of the net securing a Chelsea victory. Play continued with Hull City seemingly throwing in the towel hardly getting the ball out of their own half. But their resilient defence stopped Chelsea scoring anymore for the rest of the match. Full Time Scoreline Chelsea 2 Hull City 0 Match Facts Chelsea-Hull City 16(7)Shots(on target)-3(1) 1-Bookings-0 4-Corners-0 60%-Possesion-40% 77%-Passing-75% Man of the Match: Frank Lampard Goals: 1 Scolari Comments: After a brilliant performance by this man how could you not give you m.o.m. An incredible display of leadership of the pitch and athleticism getting past the defense on his beautifal struck goal which was perfectly set up with the Alex through ball. I am very impressed on Frank's play today. ![]() Next Match- Wigan Athletic (Away) September 20

![]() Hello there mates I'm Andy Gray along for another review of today's match versus Hull which saw Chelsea move up the rankings ever closer to the still unbeaten Liverpool. Scolari commented after the match he was a bit unhappy with Wayne Bridge and Bosingwa after their decent performance but not to his standards! Scolari said when asked how he though he wing backs did,"They were ok today, there is much room for improvement to be made after they played this way against a team who isn't very strong at all compared to Liverpool who we face in 2 weeks." Scolari went onto to say there could possibly be changes in the formation and tactics this weekend saying he wanted to also get Ballack into the starting libeup after not giving him many chances this season to play a whole game which Luis said we could just see happen this weekend. Ballack has been nagged with injuries for some time and hasn't really returned to full fitness. Scolari also said he will try to get several youngsters into the came if Chelsea maintain a decent lead by halftime which could see Freddy Adu, Phil Senderos, and Mikel get into the game. Mikel who hasn't seen 1st team action all season seems a little fed up but also has been noticed in training as one of the hardest working players many say Scolari is being to hard on him and should grant him a first team start. In other news Scolari let loose a few names he might want to sign in Janaury which includes the likes of Dani Alves of Barcelona, Miralem Pjanic from Lyon, and two Manchester United youngsters Rodrigo Possebon and Rafael center mid and wing back respectively, both very much hyped up as future players. Signing Dani Alves could mean Bosingwa or Ashley Cole finding themselves on the bench or on there way out of the Bridge. And what will come of the signatures (if it where to happen) with Possebon and Pjanic both center mids although Pjanic usually plays more of an attacking role. ![]() (Benzema left, Pjanic right) 1 already on Chelsea the other to be sought after in January.

![]() Ferguson Outraged! MANCHESTER, England: Sir Alex Ferguson is outraged with Luis Felipe Scolari after Scolari's comments about his players following Chelsea's win against Hull City. Scolari stated that he was possibly going to go after several of his youngsters in January being Rodrigo Possebon and Rafael to very talented youngsters. Ferguson hit back saying that Scolari has damaged the youngsters mentality of playing at Old Trafford making them feel uneasy about themselves at Old Trafford. Ferguson declares that Manchester United will be victorious once again this year willing his players to victory.

![]() Today Chelsea travel to the Lactics home ground in Manchester to the JJB Stadium. Chelsea are keen to secure 3 points ahead of next week's clash with Liverpool but today they are trying a new formation and tactics. ![]() Team News: Chelsea: Today Luiz Felipe Scolari decides to switch things up a bit going out with 3 defenders and 2 strikers meaning Benzema and Ballack are to start today for the Blues. Chelsea miss Deco and Ashley Cole to injury. Chelsea are now 3rd in the table with 10 points on a Win-Lose-Win-Draw-Win streak. -Cech- --Alex--Terry--Carvolho-- -J.Cole--Ballack--Essien--Malouda- -Lampard- --Benzema--Anelka-- Subs: -Cudicini (GK) -Bosingwa (RWB) -Senderos (CB) -Obi Mikel (CM) -Drogba (ST) -Adu (F) -Kalou (F) Wigan: Wigan lost their last match but the 3 before that saw them walk away with 7 points putting them in 9th place with 7 points. So far Steve Bruce is fairly happy with his team's performance. An interesting move though is Amr Zaki will not be starting as Bruce will go with Heksey and Kapo up top. -Kirkland- -Edman--Boyce--Scharner--Melchiot- Kilbane--Cattermole--Palacios--de Ridder --Heskey--Kapo-- Match Report First Half: Right off the start Heskey showed he could break down Chelsea defense but Cech made an easy save. Chelsea rebounded with an attack which was in the end shut down by a bad pass from Ballack. Play for some time went back and forth the new tactics by Scolari not really working out it seemed. Chelsea relentlessly continued attacking with Ballack, Essien, and Benzema all having very nice chances 2 of them going for corners. On one corner from Lampard Essien headed the ball off the post and out dissapointed he had come so close and not found the back of the net. Not to worry though for Essien as hour an hour into play he ripped a shot from the top of the eighteen yard box soaring into the upper ninety to put Chelsea ahead 1-0. Chelsea again got counter attacked but saved by Cech. As the half wound down a cross from Kilbane came in and Kapo got behind the defense to head the ball past Cech to make the score all tied up with Wigan now confident. Chelsea attacked receiving a corner with very little time left in the half. The ball was cleared from the top of the 18 to Terry at half field. Terry lobbed the ball past onrushing defenders to find Anelka running on. At a very bad angle Anelka banged the ball past Kirkland making the score going into the second half 2-1. Halftime Scoreline Chelsea 2 Wigan 1 Second Half: Scolari seemed confident his side would win not makng any changs to the lineup at halftime. Right at the start of the second half Lampard made a crunching tackle on Emile Heskey injuring Heskey who was immedialty subbed out. For the first ten minutes of action in this second half not much happened. But nearly at the hour mark Benzema made a beautifal pass to Anelka who scored. Right after the goal a tired Benzema was subbed out for Freddy Adu. Play went back and forth again for atleast 10 minutes and Scolari wanted to make another change. This time instructing Ballack and Lampard to switch positions. For the last 20 minutes of the half Freddy Adu and Ballack has fantastic chances but failed to convert them to goals. Final Score Chelsea 3 Wigan Athletic 1 Match Facts Chelsea-Wigan 13(5)-Shots (on target)-5(4) 0-Bookings-0 4-Corners-0 55%-Possesion-45% 77%-Passing-70% Man of the Match:
Nicolas Anelka Goals: 2 Scolari: Today the M.o.M goes to Nicolas because of his great play. I found it outstanding how he found space and finished the ball. Some plays could have been a bit better by great play by Nicolas today. His 2 goals were terrific a key part to us winning the game. ![]() Next Match- Liverpool (home) September 27, Any Predictions?

Anyone have a transfer recommendation for players that are defenders/ outside midfielders and/or a center/defensive/attacking mid player they think would be good to buy?
